I don't pretend to know a ton about the NBA but if Hammons can't play in it somewhere I'd be beyond shocked.

He had a few NBA moves today against Michigan. I had not seen those quick spin moves to the basket from Hammons...those were nasty!

As a Spurs fan, this is my hope. I don't think there'd be a better coach to learn under than Popovich. GSW would be a great fit for him also, but that wouldn't help my Spurs at all.

Hammons has to get rid of those lazy streaks....as a Spurs fan.....Spurs prefer europeans FOR SOME REASON. And as far as taking over for Duncan...hes one of the best NBA players ever. I cant see Hammons being that player for the next 15 years for the Spurs.

While typically, yes the Spurs do prefer European players, the team isn't built like that currently. They still have Manu and Tony and Diaw, and the new guy Boban, but everyone else has played collegiately in the US.

And the statement of taking over for Duncan, doesn't mean being the same player as Duncan used to be. No one expects Hammons to be one of the greatest ever, averaging 20/10. Taking over for Duncan would mean doing exactly what Duncan is doing right now, 8.6 points, 7.4 rebounds a game, solid defense, and being a role player. This isn't Timmy's team anymore. It's Kawhi's (thank you Pacers for that) and LaMarcus' team now. I think AJ could definitely fit in that current Duncan role. And Pop wouldn't let him slack off.
