Haarms

Andy, how about this. I gave my opinion of Grady's future. What's yours? is that brief enough for you?

I didn't see any steals and runs down the court for a smash dunk. I didn't see any 15 rebound games.

Respectfully, you really need to use your eyes to see. I saw a pick-6 (or pick-2, whatever you call it) dunk from Eifert at the WUG, as well as diving for loose balls, and beautiful AST (or hockey AST). True, he didn't have a 15-REB game, but who else has outside Biggie? He got the 4th most REBs on the team playing the 10th most minutes. And Painter just called him the "best rebounder on the team" in the B1G Media Day interview with JC. I kid you not. And that's when we've had a team with two 7-footers, and one preseason all-conf forward.

I agree with you, Grady isn't "great." And yeah, if Haarms was eligible or Ewing arrived earlier, we won't even hear Grady's name (he'd not even make the roster). But he did play and did perform at his absolute best, ahead of even scholarship players. He has worked hard to get to where he is at, and I think that deserves more than just a "he didn't embarrass himself."

as I said he did well in a lot of areas and could provide some glue at times if needed since he fully understands who he is and who he isn't. Lotta respect for a walk-on and what they are deprived due to status that continues to work and be successful...something we all should respect as Americans!

Now, his time adn ceiling is limited, but makle no mistake he has earned a place at the table...

You did? I missed it. You gave him a sort-of back-handed compliment and your excuse was that a real compliment would diminish your praise for Haas. In that post where you claimed to have watched Grady play, you didn't even mention Haas.

Grady will have a good career at Purdue, win some games, earn a scholarship, and prove wrong the people who form opinions about him without watching him play.
