That's an example of why I really dislike the media. Sad and pathetic reporting and editing.
 
What's wrong with this kid wanting to own a gun when he gets older? Whether he becomes a policeman or not.
 
There's nothing wrong with owning a gun.

However, why would they edit out the part where he said he wanted to be a cop? (That's a rhetorical question) The media is just trying to stir the pot and perpetuate the idea that kids growing up in that environment only know one thing. This kid wanting to be a cop doesn't fit their agenda.

Or perhaps they didn't see anything wrong with the kid wanting to own a gun when he becomes an adult - whether he becomes a policeman or not.
 
I'd buy that argument if I thought the media actually thought that. However, when is the last time the media has portrayed a gun owner positively?
