Going to be p&$@! if....

We're a strong 11 now (in my opinion) and knocking on the door of a 10.

If we beat Wisky, we jump to (at worst) a 9 seed. Maybe an 8.

If we win the whole thing, we're a solid 7.

These are the things I'm telling myself.

Just depends on matchups. I would rather play Virginia, Gonzaga, and Kansas in the second round instead of Notre Dame or Iowa State both of whom may have lower seeds than the previously mentioned teams.

I also think I would rather win the B1G tourney and have a tougher draw in the NCAA tourney. Realistically we are not a NCAA championship or final four team and winning the B1G may be our one shot at any kind of title this year. The team would remember that forever.

If we win two tough games back to back I will be glad to play anyone.

When we win it all I think we're a 7. Hell if Iowa and St, Johns were projected 7s a couple days ago we should be

I still think we get to the 6 line if we beat two top 10 teams in 2 days. Play respectable today and we may get a 9. Now that we are in, I think the OC schedule is less important. A win today and we will be judged as a 12-6 power conference team, 7-8. Win the whole thing and I don't think people call it a Cinderella run. We should be seeded as the B1G champ should be. I think 6.

But what do I know? I think it is stupid that the big east which is full of mid major teams has 6 "locks".

the #11 line is the same as the #6 after the 2nd round game. The only difference is playing a tougher first game. If Purdue stays on the #11 line, that's not necessarily a terrible draw.

Also, Wichita State was a #9 seed out West when it advanced to the Final Four, beating the #1 and the #2 in that regional. It can be done.

That seed screwed Landry and Teague a few years back. Gave florida the toughest game of the tournament, and could have made a run as Landry was playing great

I never get why fans hope for an "easier path" to a Final Four or further: if you want them to be great (ie national champs), they're going to have to beat some really good or great teams eventually. I don't think there is much value that can be taken from beating lesser opponents in the NCAA's. It would just mean that they haven't played one of the better teams yet.

As for that Florida game in 2007, Purdue had its chances to get stops and give themselves a chance to win it. Corey Brewer and Al Horford just made big-time "championship-type" plays down the stretch.

It would suck to have to play UK in the second round but it would also be an unbelievable opportunity to shock the world and make a big statement about Purdue.

It pains me to say this, but I think Purdue can play with anyone in the country, except Kentucky...I think they can be beaten, maybe by the Charlotte Bobcats...but they are soooooo BIG and athletic! I hope to hell the boilers get in any other bracket other then Kentucky's.

I agree about UK. If UK's starters play a terrible game and our starters their best of the year, we still probably lose because Cal will put in the second platoon which is also better than our starters (and certainly better than our bench). It would take a near calamity of bad games for five or more of UK's players all at the same time, and an as yet unseen in 2014-15 full "as good as we can play" game by the Boilers to keep it close.

I know I'm a homer, and you're probably right, but...

I believe Purdue is better equipped to beat Kentucky than most teams are. My reasons?

1. With AJ and Isaac we have two legit bigs who CAN battle with their towers.

2. Octeus can hang with anybody. If he stays out of foul trouble, he can negate some of their perimeter firepower.

3. Vince and Basil are athletic enough to corral more boards from the 4-spot.

4. If we can maintain focus and defense for forty minutes, I think we can beat them.

Obviously, they're awesome, and yeah, they probably beat us eight times out of ten. But I really think two (or one) of the times, we'd get them.
