Two ways to look at this game but no one can say that we do not look improved from last year and saw some potential.

Good

Offensive line in the running game

Knox and Jones – when have we seen this type of running attack? For young players they excelled nad made me confident in the future

Receivers look at lot better but we are still missing a game breaker. That kid from Indy that went to Ohio State and has not even sniffed the field would look good in black and gold.

Opportunities for Improvement

No pass rush in second half whatsoever

Middle of the field in the opponent’s pass game – seems to be every year

Expected better play from the secondary based on reading the press clippings but this could be attributable to the two items above

Special teams did not impress at all in any aspect. Kick offs were all short and very returnable

Un –explainable

1st and 20 completion over the middle in the 4Q – where were the safeties???

Playing calling before the missed field goal – ATROCIOUS and I am being generous

Never going to win a game with two pick sixes against. Can’t happen and defeats the purpose of going with the experienced hand

Summary

We are better, no one expected us to compete in this game and without the pick sixes this would be one happy group tonight. I, for one, believe in Hazell and would not be surprised to see 5 wins based on today’s performance and addressing the opportunities for improvement.
