Give That Man a Raise

Grade is in and... really enjoyed watching the game for the first time in 4 years. Great discipline was noted in dramatic improvements in penalties over last week for one. Progress in this area means kids are listening coaches are coaching and results will come. O line play was outstanding I know its a lot about who you are playing but a 4 point favorite in any sport should have gave us a better game. Kudos to the line coach Outstanding !!! Defense needs a better game all around... they will get better but a better rush will help everyone and tackling will need to get better when we start tackling better players. Coaching was A+ what a blast to watch our Boilers and feel we had someone leading our team and we finally won't get out coached. Overall grade a --- A ---young men let's get #2 next week

JB was by far the best off season hire. Wealthy Purdue Alumni better step up very soon to make him very well paid. Otherwise he will be going to Florida next year or somewhere like that. After two games the secret is out. Go Purdue and hail Jeff Brohm! Holt is a damn good coach as well.

JB was a good i hire i think. i hope he has great results and if he does stays around for a long time.
there are a lot of decent coaches who can coach. the trick is a boss who can hire the good coach.
maybe MB is the boss who can. if JB leaves in a few years for a perceived better job PU football will probably be in a great place.

another good coach will be out there

what i saw that i liked was just before the half ended the mighty boilers got the ball and didn't "take a knee". that is opposite of the past few years.

If Purdue continues to invest in the program and facilities, then the chance of sustaining if CJB leaves goes up. If he gets Purdue to a bowl game after 4 horrid seasons, a lot of the big boys will come knocking to pull him away. It is imparitive his contract never gets less than 4 years and his staff is paid competitively and the facilities stay where they should be. There is no reason Purdue should let him leave if he can continue this miraculous turn around. Purdue made the best hire over the off season and got the right guy.

Keep in mind, he is doing with with bare cubbards. As he continues to improve recruiting and drawing in 4 stars and high 3 stars, the program will only get better. His understanding of the game and evaluation of his own team has been impressive. He also seems to have a very good eye for talent as well. I know it's early, but it is very difficult not to be incredibly excited for this season. If they beat Missouri, I think they will start to get some attention. That will go a long way with recruiting.
