Give Holt a raise!

Holt and defensive staff have done an outstanding job since coming here. Think about the significant turnaround on D last year. We had to start this year with 8 new starters. Most of which are freshmen and sophomores so a little struggle was to be expected. Their getting it now and it's fun to see. I especially like Cornell Jones and Kenneth Major.
Basically the whole D returns next year besides Thieneman,Cason, and Blackmon. Add in the talented newcomers and we should have a good defense for a good while.

Yes. I think grant steps in where Thienemen left off and GK makes our DLine that much better. We have 8-9 talented DBs from 2018/2019 I expect we will be very deep there. But talent or no talent, Holt deserves the lions share of the credit for this defense.

Yes, the entire staff deserves a raise for their performance, yet don’t be satisfied at this point. Let’s get six wins, keep the Oaken Bucket and get back to a bowl.

When the Boilers Win their Bowl game this year, all the Coaches should get a bump, and a monthly account at Culver’s. I have no issues with that, do you?
Why wait? . . . . Give them the Culvers account now!

Oh, and increase all of the assistant coaches salaries by 50% and then give Brohm another extension and increase as well.

Vis a vis the performance of our defense against OSU- is it just my imagination or was our tackling as good as I am thinking? I recall few if any times that tackles were not completed. It did not seem as if any Buckeye offensive players were running thru tackles on Saturday.

Completely agree. Tackling technique is clearly being taught well.

Hopefully Neal and Major are ok, both played well Saturday night.

Agree, both are huge pieces. Major made some great tackles in run support Saturday. He is really developing a nice feel for the game. Neal is vital to the run D success. He stuffs the middle 80% of the time on runs if I had to guess. Does much more than what shows on stat sheet.

There's a lot of money being thrown around on this board...!
Why not? We threward $2M a year into the turtleneck market and the stadium was empty. Surely we can afford more for full stadiums and night games on national TV like last game.

Great point. I noticed it myself on how firm tackles were. I had not seen any broken tackles. Our guys banged with intensity and never let go. Another reason to give Holt a raise!
