Give credit where it's due

Great article. I love the nickname for Haarms.

Painter also gets some credit because that was a great coaching job he did last night to put us in the position win one ugly game.
I saw Painter trying lots of different combinations due to poor offensive output and fouls...at one point there was this lineup on the floor:
Haas
Haarms
Eastern
Cline
Mathias

That's a lineup I don't think many of us would have thought would have been on the floor at the same time.

Actually, that was a lineup I did want to see or one similar. Two towers for inside play and defense...two shooters to keep some spacing and one player with some size to defend and drive the ball deep. I would have liked to have seen the posts between mid and high and the shooters behind the arc away from helping in a final seconds where the posts cross the lanes and pin their man for an opening in the lane and Nojel taking his smaller guard to the rack...

Anyway, there we a lot of interesting lineups...like NOBODY doing anything to help anyone get open and then Grady gets off the bench and Taylor getting a few minutes. I hope Taylor starts racking up more minutes for even more versatility...

Grady was phenomenal last night. He did a whole bunch of small things and if he can do that against UL...he'll be able to do those save for probably Duke and MSU on a consistent basis at this point in time. Grady has earned all the minutes that come his way and probably a few more given his ability to keep the ball moving on offense and good rebounding position.

I think almost all credit for the win against Tennessee should go to the coach. He kept experimenting to find the right combination of players. Nobody could seem to shoot right, so he had to win it by playing weird combinations. All the players kept fighting to their credit and nobody seemed to get discouraged.

As we know...rebounding has a lot to do with effort...not all, but a lot. He can still get boards because most are taken below the rim. Grady can still set screens and help others get open...that shouldn't change. He can still make good decisions and occupy a defensive player by continuous movement as well. He has his physical limitations and obviously a ceiling on how much scoring he can do, but he can go in and do the things to help others...to help the team and if those things are needed more than what he lacks as they many times are...he will contribute beyond a number like scoring ...assists etc...

Hilarious that you confused UL with Tennessee....i'll likely credit it to the drama with UT all day yesterday...but still kind of funny!

That is funny! I think I will not correct it and continue to let my "slip" show. Yes, I was following the football coach drama way too closely, then let it bleed onto my posts here.
