Gillis TKR Furst

I’m blown away by all the people sleeping on Gillis here. I think Gillis is the best shooter and rebounder of the 3. TKR needs to back up Zach at the 5. Gonzaga was leaving him wide open last night and he couldn’t make them pay, so you have to have a shooter in there. I like Furst but his shot isn’t as reliable as Mason’s can be and his rebounding is a better asset when Edey isn’t on the floor gobbling most of them up. I think Furst and his ability to cut to the basket works great with Edey though. I just don’t see the offensive firepower from TKR that the coaches saw during the summer enough to play him and Edey together.

True, but rebounding suffers as compared to Furst.

But Love the data above though that shows G-E is best combo. Hard to argue with that.

I like Gillis getting big mins - he might be my personal fav at the 4, but I’m not convinced that’s what this shows.

Per minute, Purdue increased their lead 0.6 points/min with ZE&MG, and 0.7 with ZE&Furst.

Small sample size especially ZE&Furst, but that’s all you have to go on sometimes and it’s better than nothing until more data.

I like Furst there vs tall talent.....more rebounding, but last night Gillis did okay I guess. Needs to score more though imo.

Going by the eye test, I thought that Furst was better yesterday, but Gillis was making some mistakes that he normally doesn’t make.

Love Gillis' grit, but he's pretty short for a 4 and not a much of a leaper. Quite frankly none of them are consistently good at the 4.
