Going through my copy of the Football kickoff issue ("Drawing Board", just now getting around to looking at it) and noted some of the initial predictions and comments. Kudos always to the GBI staff for all of their hard work and excellent coverage, but as we all know, prognostication is the art of making mistakes before they happen. :)

Here's just a short breakdown (I didn't do the Maniacs forecast, but it's pretty entertaining, too.)

Players to watch in Training Camp:
David Steinmetz
Matt McCann
Isaac Zico
Markell Jones

Starting RB
Clardie - Jones
Charters - Jones

Game predictions:
Louisville -17
Purdue -2 (against Ohio)
Missouri -11
Michigan -23
Minnesota -8
Wisconsin -22
rutgers even
Nebraska -9
Purdue -4 (against Illinois)
Northwestern -12
Iowa -16
Indiana -1

From the day Brohm was hired until the Louisville game, I thought it would be credible progress if Purdue could be competitive in every game and win 4 or 5.

So, they exceeded those expectations.
