Dumb ass checked public opinion polls, saw the markets tanking (but not too much because the markets built in that Trump is full of shit) and backed off within one day! He'll get a press statement from Mexico saying "we'll try really hard on that border" just like I said and nothing will change, except for more confirmation that every other nation in the world sees the latest example that Trump is a pussy, a reactionary, a narcissist, and doesn't understand what he's doing.
Mexico is stationing 10,000 troops at the border, you pretentious fool. This open borders nonsense will stop and that is exactly what Trump said.

By the way, the vast majority of illegal immigration is because of tourist/family visitation visa overstays. Because it's cheaper, less dangerous, and way easier to fly into Miami or Chicago on Delta Airlines than to tunnel through the Rio Grande. It's just over 3,500 miles from Honduras to the US border. Even Mexico City is a 16 hour drive. Does it make any sense that any high percentage of people from all of these far away spots are walking, swimming, tunneling into the US?
So, whatcha boy doing about that? I'm all for immediately deporting any illegal that gets convicted of any crime, but this is all theater and you're falling for it.

Too many things to write on this with any depth, but the view of tariffs with a "long" view differs from a "short" view as many opposing focus. Tariffs are only effective if you have the leverage and we are seeing that in play. Could certain things go up in cost...sure, but that doesn't capture the totality of a tariff in play...especially with a long view. Should things go up and should inflation result, there are other ways to compensate for those two items with money freed up by cutting waste and tax tables should more people having their money taken for taxes due to increased wages etc. How all these things work out is much more important that knee jerk response based on fear told by msnbc and it's ilk. Have they not seen the rise in prices everywhere as a result of Biden's administration when worrying about some commodity in trade to the USA costing more?

Yes, and the WSJ and the "economists" were wrong. It appears that you are brain dead to what has transpired over the past 48 hours. Trump's tariff threats against Mexico and Canada tanked the DJIA by almost 700 points. But then the Mexican president and Canadian prime minister caved and went groveling to Trump to postpone the tariffs until they could get effective immigration controls on illegal immigration and drug trafficking. The Dow regained 75% of its losses in the afternoon and today, at 11:00 am, the DJIA is HIGHER than it was when it began the plummet yesterday.
Bottom line: The WSJ and the "economists" were wrong and Trump pulled off a major diplomatic victory yesterday. And as Trump promised, this Biden open border lunacy is going to stop.
