Game is on you Coach!

Dumb OP. We came into East Lansing and had many chances to win and there were poor decisions. You cannot put the blocked kick, the 2nd “int” which could have given Purdue first and goal if targeting was rightfully called, reviere diving on the ball at the 1 on our blocked FG, or the fact that he played with a far more inferior roster than MSU in terms of talent (they had more talented players at 19 of the 22 positions when you compare depth charts, and most of them weren’t even close).
Dumb Response as well. Called a vanilla game over targeting Rondale Moore and MSU was prepared for him. Purdue did not adjust enough to other personnel. Moore will get injured if we continue to target him 20 times plus kickoff returns & punt returns. Nuf said.

I’m just saying that Coach calls the plays and it led to INT by being to F’ing predictable today. Maybe Bobinski should also Bitch out Brohm in front of National Audience? Bottom line is everyone can be criticized, yet should they be bitched at on TV every time?! How about keeping calm and saving it for film room where it should be used. Oh, for the record, I’m not related to Blough and have no Fatherly sticking up for him attitude. I do not think he played well and rare if ever used today 1 pump fake to get the LB’s or CB’s to jump the route and burn them. There...I speak my peace.

I got it. But, I think you're really overreacting.

Coaches and players are in the heat of battle. Players sign up for the job, knowing they're going to get an intense coach confronting them about what happened in the heat of battle. Every coach is different.

The culture in which we now live has no tolerance for this type of confrontation.

It was definitely a disappointment after it looks like we turned a corner the last 4 games. We may have got over confident, maybe not. Maybe Michigan State came out ready to fight after last week and the combination of us coming off huge emotional win and them coming off being embarrassed was the perfect storm.
They may have injuries but their defense is good and it showed. It was a dud of a game and blame can be placed all around. The players especially Blough didn't play well and Brohm has every right to get on him in front of everyone. He knows Blough is capable and team leaders should be able to handle being got on to if they're not performing. Brohm is turning Purdue around and once recruiting comes along, watch out.
Think about it, we have been in every single game the last 2 years with mainly Hazzel players. We were routinely getting whipped before Brohm got here.
I will say they need to shore things up to beat Iowa. Boiler Up!

F**k you! Strong letter to follow!!! :(
Go for it. I can handle it. What all of you need to know is I love Purdue and I very much like what Coach Brohm has done for Purdue. Hell, I’m back to watching and caring about games on Saturdays! If some of you do not think that Coach Brohm called a shitty game and over utilized Rondale Moore (whom I love as a player and person as I’ve read a load of articles about him since Trinity days), then you are blind. That was an egg after a gem. Can I give credit to MSU’s defense yes. Did Knox expose them on the edge along with Hopkins going vertical and Zico going vertical? Yes to all those questions. Purdue was so dialed in on Moore that it became predictable. I might add at this level and overuse, he might even get injured. Then, where are we?! Final comment, Coach grade yourself today. I give him a true C-. That is true, and I do not give a damn what any of you think!!!

We can critique him. Hey, I love his style and play calling and where we are at as a team right now. Want to get better or scream at your QB for an interception that you were predictable for? Self reflection coach...he’ll see it in the game film when he reviews it.

Nope

No. I had to step back and realize most people would have guessed 3-5 a month ago
Everything changed 8 days ago with that brilliant win over tO$U. It was brought down to Earth with a thud against a heavily wounded MSU yesterday. Find a way to get 2 or more wins in the next 4 games and all will be good again. BOILER UP!!!

Next week is at home. Calls are different. MSU defense might not get as much credit if a few 50/50 calls go the other way. We didn’t score due to bad decisions and are correctable.
Just a reminder. MSU had the ball almost 40 minutes of the game. They were inside Purdue's 40 yard line numerous times to only come away with field goals. So MSU left a slew of points on the field. Listen, no one cheered more than MSU fans when you beat the hell out of OSU last week. And I think Purdue is getting better each year under your new coach. But MSU is playing with 9 starters out. They are on their THIRD center. 6 starting offensive lineman have been out 2/3 of the season. Lombardi had played a total of TWO SNAPS prior to yesterdays game. We have never had our All American DB (Scott) the entire season as he got a knee injury running sprints the week before the start of the season. You give MSU their full compliment of players and they'll beat anyone..including UM..in the BT.

When you’ve got a player like Moore, you use him as much as possible. He can break a big play any time he touches the ball.
Agreed. It’s a dumb argument to say Moore is being “overused”. He wants to touch the ball as much as possible and he should - because of his talent.

You give Brohm mershawn rice and Milton Wright along with pass rushers like Karlaftis and hunter and your scumbag dbs can hold on for dear life... Brohm will crank his offense up against your dirty players all day. You had 9 starters out from a team that returned 22? Brohm had 5 starters that were his and 17 that were Darrell Hazell... can’t wair till the next time we play rape u

Dumb till he is injured. He is taking some big hits. If you are watching Sunday night football with Drew Brees the commentators just mentioned about Alvin Kamara being overused in 1st four games. Reduce workload to reduce injury. Not so damn dumb after all.

Reading this entire thread reminds me of the town meeting at the barbershop in the movie Hoosiers

Sunday night and I think Blough’s struggles to stay in the pocket, keep his feet planted, and step in to his throws is likely what led to his off game. Against OSU, he took some big shots but stayed in there and stepped in to his throws. MSU did a good job of muddying up the pocket and making David feel pressure around his feet to make him antsy and get him out of his comfort zone. He looked more along the lines of 2016 Blough with happy feet and throwing off his back foot rather than the 2018 Blough who was standing tall, allowing routes to develop, and stepping in to his throws to make them accurately.

I think David just had a bad game and when you don’t have the running game to go to 30 times a game when that happens, you get beat in a close game.

Our OL was having trouble protecting Blough so that had a lot to do with his happy feet.

I'm a huge Blough fan (and Sindelar), but the rush didn't cause happy feet. As a P5 QB, you still have to set your feet and deliver the ball, even in the face of a rush.
From the time Blough became starting QB under Hazell he's had happy feet. He’s gotten better but he did have happy feet vs MSU at times.

yes, he did. And he's had really good games in which he has not.

Still, a strong pass rush is not the cause of "happy feet."

What is the cause of happy feet then? QBs have an internal clock that's ticking when they're in the pocket. If he's getting pressure all day, that clock speeds up, meaning, he has to get through his progressions faster, get rid of the ball faster. Everything gets sped up before times up and the pocket collapses or he's forced to scramble. It's sort of the definition of happy feet.

Agree with this. If you watch enough football, you will inevitably hear an announcer use very nearly that exact description when talking about "happy feet". Well, unless they are referencing the movie.

Simple. Not getting set.

Happy feet can occur with no rush.

A QB with good footwork can get set and make a good throw under immense pressure.

The two aren't remotely connected.

Agreed. He didn't have happy feet in the face of OSUs rush. We was really calm and deliberate. He wasn't tap dancing around the pocket like at MSU. Hopefully he'll get his groove back.
