I see you Bitching at Blough, but you are calling the plays leading him to Rondale Moore nearly every Damn time!!! You are overusing Moore and it allows the jumped routes and Int! Look in the F’ing mirror on that last pick.

Blough was bad today. When you only average 5.7 yards per completion and you throw for less than 60%...on top of missing receivers and making bad decisions, the game is on you

Brohm doesn't have an Xbox controller on the sidelines you know. He might call the plays, but he can't control where Blough looks, or when he throws.

Actually if the only playmaker you have is Moore, you’re gonna overuse him. But that was on Rondale Moore.

This game was lost when the defender decided to cover the ball at the 1. We never got our first drive of the 3rd allowing them to go up 10 on the next drive. Tha was so so bad

A choke job for sure.
Please, give it a rest.

Purdue played a wounded opponent with a very good defense and we came into the game under questionable weather conditions and with a team that is not used to winning like we did against OSU.

Not many (if anyone around here) would have predicted we would win this game at the beginning of the season, so now that we put it all together for one game against OSU, we should be thinking B1G Championship???

Um, I don't think so.

Look, we played against the best defense, by far, and couldn't quite get over the hump. If we didn't have the turnover deep in their territory toward the end, we might have won the game. But we didn't. Oh well. Life goes on.

The team will continue to get better, especially as we get more and more better recruits. This is not a 2 year turnaround from last place in the B1G to the B1G championship, so perhaps we should keep that in mind and appreciate the growing pains along the way?

I think Iowa is a better defense overall...and they have an offense that can put numbers up. Next week is going to be rough imo

Dumb OP. We came into East Lansing and had many chances to win and there were poor decisions. You cannot put the blocked kick, the 2nd “int” which could have given Purdue first and goal if targeting was rightfully called, reviere diving on the ball at the 1 on our blocked FG, or the fact that he played with a far more inferior roster than MSU in terms of talent (they had more talented players at 19 of the 22 positions when you compare depth charts, and most of them weren’t even close).

Umm, no. That was on Blough. Overthrew. Telegraphed his throws. Made bad decisions.

I would have liked to have seen Sindelar come in. Blough was just having an off game.

Next week is at home. Calls are different. MSU defense might not get as much credit if a few 50/50 calls go the other way. We didn’t score due to bad decisions and are correctable.

Hope you're right about that...

And BTW, when have we gotten calls at home?

Lol, let's wipe out his buyout so it will be easier for him to go to L'ville. Then we can hire Tom Allen who will soon be available. Quit complaining and remember where we were two yrs ago.
My point is coach has to bitch at himself a bit as he calls the primary play and Moore was covered well today. Zico and Knox made plays, yet we hardly went back to them. Look in the mirror, we were predictable.

I’m ok with that. Just tired of Coach Bitching at Blough when it appears Moore is our only game plan. Predictable...YES!

He had every right to bitch at Blough. He played a very shitty game and made poor decisions. That game wasn't lost due to play calls. That game was lost due to a terrible game by Blough and the secondary.

Wrong. Jeff Brohm is the best thing to happen to this program since Drew Brees and mollenkopf

LOL. Again, your comprehension is garbage. Brohm might be the best thing that has happened to Purdue football and the AD lately. Likely is. That has nothing to do with the outcome of this game. Moore usage today was a question mark.

Brohm has publicly taken responsibility for a lot of what went wrong with the 0-3 start. I'm pretty sure he looks in the mirror every day and asks himself what he can do better. He's said that time and time again.

Really? Enlighten me on how exactly they were supposed to use Sparks and Zico .. Jared Sparks couldn’t run more than a foot away from the corner in one on one wjthoj help today

We can critique him. Hey, I love his style and play calling and where we are at as a team right now. Want to get better or scream at your QB for an interception that you were predictable for? Self reflection coach...he’ll see it in the game film when he reviews it.

I only watched the first half. Moore was double teamed a lot. However, many of Blough's passes were nowhere near his receivers in the first half. he could have easily had a TD to an open Moore if his pass was even close in the second quarter. It wasn't a matter of pressure or bad play calling. . it was just a matter of Blough being off today. It happens.

Looking ahead, Iowa is going to be a very tough game as will UW. in order to win either game, we need to play mistake free football. that's what winners do. Simply stated, if we had played mistake free football today, we would have won - the same with our other earlier losses. Turnovers = losses. . just ask IU.

What happens when or if Moore gets injured in overuse. Who did we develope and have ready?

Umm, no. Moore was used when he was open. If you're arguing they used Moore too often or too little, then that's on Blough, not Brohm. Brohm makes the calls to get guys open, not to make decisions for Blough when it comes to choosing who is open.

I can agree with your sentiment but disagree with a lot in your post.

Purdue played a wounded opponent with a very good defense and we came into the game under questionable weather conditions and with a team that is not used to winning like we did against OSU.

This sounds a lot like EMU excuse. The other team plays in the same weather. If Brohm has an offense that needs to be played in pleasant weather or it results in a loss Purdue needs to change it now. Purdue plays in the BT, and weather after OCt1 is a crap shoot.

Not many (if anyone around here) would have predicted we would win this game at the beginning of the season, so now that we put it all together for one game against OSU, we should be thinking B1G Championship???

I am hoping for 1-2 versus MSU, IA, and WI. That said, the talk of BT Championship appearance was premature to put it kindly I disagree that Purdue only put it all together for one game. I think it was more of a 4 game stretch.

Look, we played against the best defense, by far, and couldn't quite get over the hump. If we didn't have the turnover deep in their territory toward the end, we might have won the game. But we didn't. Oh well. Life goes on.

I tend to agree. But the one aspect of growing a program that needs to change, is the constant shooting oneself in the foot. More football games are lost than won so to speak. Not sure Purdue has made progress in that area so far this year. I can cite today, EMU, and NW.

We were moving the ball much better in the second half. Needed less mental errors

wow.

really?

Brohm is going to get in the face of players when they aren't playing like they could. Don't sound like a Dad. Blough needs to "man up." He needs to play better. That's one of the things coaches do: get really good players to play better, and challenge them when they're not playing up to their ability.

Don't be so sensitive.

I agree. If this team can't score on Mich State, next week will be ugly.
don't overplay this game, Pat.

This game was in the cards.

MSU team embarrassed at home vs. their rival.

Purdue team sky high after a historic game vs OSU.

Difficult weather conditions.

It had every recipe for a disaster, yet we were in a position to win going into Q4.

I think pass interference should have been called on MSU defender hanging all over Moore 2 plays in a row. The ref was right there and did nothing.

I do not disagree. I would also add the play right before the interception from the hit the MSU defender had a fistful of Zico's jersey in endzone. No call.

I will say Tiller had a lot of these same issues as well.

And I hope this is one thing that changes as Purdue gets more DB talent in here, but for the life of me cannot figure out why Purdue plays so soft in coverage. In college ball one is allowed contact until the ball is in the air, the refs let a lot go, and Purdue plays a lot of soft coverage. No reason for it.

-I think the ball was forced just not to Moore but others today as well. Definitely got the ball a lot when he was not open.

-Against a team that is getting massive upfield pressure, motioning Moore five yards plus deep does nothing. The defense does not care. Look what happened when Purdue tried sending Knox one way and Moore the other, with Moore deep in backfield the entire DL crushed him. It was the and goal downs in first half.

-It is definitely on Blough but also on Brohm. There were quite a few and longer plays where Moore got the ball well short of first down marker, and other wrs out on field were not running routes but blocking. I just did not see the stress from routes today that tested different depths in defense. Or horizontally for that matter. I only recall seeing Moore go deep one time. Have to move him around both in formation and in route usage.

Likely some was due to OL issues. But again, keep a rb back there to make MSU play run/help block.

Grand scheme of things not a huge deal just did not think this was Brohm's best day.

A good team was bound for figure out the offense at some point. We weren't going to run the table.

Im willing to bet however that Brohm will figure out what needs to be tweaked. Big game next week!

I’m just saying that Coach calls the plays and it led to INT by being to F’ing predictable today. Maybe Bobinski should also Bitch out Brohm in front of National Audience? Bottom line is everyone can be criticized, yet should they be bitched at on TV every time?! How about keeping calm and saving it for film room where it should be used. Oh, for the record, I’m not related to Blough and have no Fatherly sticking up for him attitude. I do not think he played well and rare if ever used today 1 pump fake to get the LB’s or CB’s to jump the route and burn them. There...I speak my peace.
