Edit-
Title should have been "From Afar---"
Appears that Purdue has engaged with Fleck's agent ( though Fleck has publicly declared no personal contact before MAC game on 2Dec). That could give the Ducks time to come to grips with Helfrich. If Oregon decides it is time to make a HC change they will go all out for Fleck.
Other candidates who enjoy support at Purdue include Olson (NFL), QB coach for Brees during his Boiler years, Calhoun (AF), Kleinman (NDSU), and Brohm ( WKU). If Sumlin were released ( which takes $5M buyout off the table, his position would be more attractive) Personally, I am thrilled that ND names such as Holtz or Weiss do not appear to be in the conversation. (And neither does Miles. OTOH, Mullen is MIA. Could be that Tiller's advice to stay away from the South has been heeded)
I am pleased with the five candidates as each has something different to offer along the way of "getting there"
