For those who think this race was decided by “racist misogynists”

Do you think Trump would have won this election if grocery prices were 20% lower than 2019 and if gas prices were $2?

If so, why?

If not, why?

IMo, this election was about the economy (James Carville was right, ya know). But please keep on believin’ it’s the racist misogynistic boogeymen in the small towns across America. If you do that, you’ll lose again in 2026 and 2028

Some of the left is beyond terrible at reading the situation. So they default to their preconceived notions during difficult times. This time sexism and race.

But as usual - they are lying to their side again.

I posted the various amounts the Biden admin cost me these past four years the last being $49,484.....for the whole 4 years. And the left here argued and tried to defer that real $ loss to other causes. Or had little to do with Biden they thought. Well it was real, and caused 72 Million like me in a landslide to vote Trump like I figured it might possibly do.

Some of the left just can't read the tea leaves. They live in an alternative reality and view others through prisms of race, sex or woke, DEI reality.........but it's as simple as GREEN......And USUALLY is.

Yeah, I'm not sure the most accurate depiction of them. Generally, I call them dumb. However, a blanket "dumb" ignores that domain where they are NOT dumb and so the most accurate word may be gullible and many times more emotionally driven than most.

They just don't get it, even when they get smacked in the face with a 2x4 like they just did. Some people learn the hard way. But, my suspicion is that they'll continue to play identify politics, separate Americans by race, call Republicans -ist, -ism, etc.
But the funny part is, Americans; black, white and brown, just told them a loud message of "We don't care!"

Literally every developed country in the world voted out incumbents in the most recent election. I do think racism and misogyny have to be considered as a factor, but there is no single factor why the better candidate lost.

Inflation was an issue, but Biden inherited 9% inflation and brought it back down to 2%, and before you show me that photo of low gas prices, recall that Covid dramatically reduced demand, which is what led to gas prices dropping below $2/gallon in the first place.

Kamala was the "better candidate" if you prefer an all encompassing government that controls every part of your life, empties your pocket to redistribute, and is on the slope to a socialist empire where only those governing thrive.

The better candidate didn’t get nearly as many votes than Biden did in 2020. Surprised they removed Biden and put in your better candidate and lost.

Better candidate lost?
What has Harris ever won?
She was a terrible candidate.
It's about more than mean tweets my friend.

sunny Hostin on the view stumped her with a question, and so did Anderson Cooper of CNN, both whom couldn’t have been more in the tank for her candidacy. She’s an intellectual lightweight.

And she’s had one job for the last four years: the border czar, and she couldn’t have failed any worse at that.

Yes terrible candidate ....I did a whole post about how bad both these were.

Trump improved and was brilliant at the end. Strong close as the results show.

She just stayed.... terrible. And the results showed that too.

List below was posted earlier on how bad a candidate both Trump and Kamala were .....Trump improved and was brilliant at the he end with the McDonald's and Garbage Truck deals as example. Thus he won.

Ms. Harris was likely the poorest candidate the Dems ever had since McGovern. Results showed that.

But Kamela was a disaster......K2
🌀 Beyond a poor communicator, word salads, and repeats nonsensical items when asked direct questions.
🌀 Slow on getting policy out, thus independents know little about her
🌀 Flip flops = untrustworthy
🌀 Some of her policies make no sense to the problems @ hand
🌀 The Seinfeld Candidate....a campaign about nothing but laughs & giggles. - Joy doesn't pay the grocery bill for MC.
🌀 VP Choice does not appeal to independent voter, and show K2s extreme radical tendencies she is trying to hide.
🌀 Refuses to do needed interviews to capture independent voters
🌀 K1, K2, accents, silence.....No one knows who she is. Thus, people are left with her less than poor record of last 4 years
🌀 Reputation and manner of a poor leader. Skipped out on responsibilities of office given, like the border, and 92% of her own staff hated her & left.
🌀. Bad reputation of last 4 years.....high tax rep of party, lead over 52% to think they will be taxed more. 58% see her as more of the same bad policy. Hasn't been able to communicate that away.
🌀 K2 comes off as phony & fake to middle Americans.

Trump probably would still have won with the lower grocery and gas price. Would not have been easy. There were far too many issues and problems created by Biden and Harris. It all began with the exec orders the day Biden was sworn in as president. Followed by disaster after disaster. The Afghan withdrawal. Ukraine war. The Chinese spy balloon. Was not shot down until China obtained footage of bonefish fly fishing in the SC marshes.

More - illegal immigration, cost tax payers hundreds of billion of dollars. And putting illegals ahead of American citizens. Weak, failed or late responses to natural disasters or other. The train derailment in Ohio. Hurricane response. Weak on crime. Lying daily to American about inflation. Lying about Biden’s health. An administration that did not care about America. Jennifer Grandholm laughing about the energy policy. Useless Buttigieg. Myorkis constant lying and not putting our security first. DOJ, FBI election interference. Harris complete failure on border and immigration. Lying about ICE whipping illegals that attempted to enter the country. Harris absolutely no plan if she was elected. Lying about taxing Americans. Her hidden agenda was to increase taxes for everyone. Could go on and on.

Cannot think of one good and prosperous thing this admin did in four years.

I give them for being alerted to the need for "chip" manufacturing needing to be in the USA. However, I generally agree with your perception

The simple fact that you think inflation of 9% was inherited is more than enough in this post to see that you're not playing with reality. The truth is that inflation was below 2% until 2021. Just look at the chart on this link at #3.

Was there any racism or misogyny involved in people's decisions? I'm sure there was, but I am also quite sure it is so small that it wouldn't even be noticed if those votes went completely away or to the other side.

I think racism and misogyny was part of it, but not in the way the left thinks it was. I think there are people who were motivated to vote because they were tired of being called derogatory names for disagreeing with the left.

You attack people long enough, eventually they do get tired of it and start fighting back.

It is hard for me to believe that some were motivated by those two things, but there has to be a few towards the tail of the distribution as there are in everything! I understand being attacked, but really hope the vote was about a known figure and his previous accomplishments with the left throwing everything possible towards him to stunt his efforts versus a history lacking accomplishments and hopeful the voters believe in fairy dust!

I would think it would be based on previous accomplishments as to why they would vote for Trump, but the name calling was just motivation for them to make sure they got out to vote and make their voice heard.

Maybe I am a little naive though, as while I've been called a racist, sexist, pretty much you name it, it's truly something I don't think about. I used to have a lot of discussions about this topic with my long-time old boss (Chinese lady). The company would do these diversity events to try and push social acceptance and I would never go. She was always trying to get me to go, and I would tell her that the differences don't matter to me, and I prefer to focus on our commonalities which then makes it easier to accept the differences. Which is what made her just Julie to me and not the Chinese lady.

We obviously got along horribly since I was one of the few she drug with her when she got assigned to another department and I worked for until they laid both of us off when they cut our entire department.

yes, that probably motivated some to get out and vote.

The DEI classes led to me quitting early. It was hard to pretend to not understand things and just accept the pablum given to the masses. You may get called things here...that seems to happen a lot, but remember I "own" the arrogant a$$ name. FWIW, probably around 2000 or so I was in a "Global Culture" class taught be a German lady. As she was going through all the things "we" could learn from all these third world classes she made a mistake of asking if there were any comments. I raised my hand and reminded her that those countries didn't have electricity. There were probably 50-75 people in the class and I got mixed reactions. Many smirked and others couldn't believe I stated the obvious. She didn't call on me after that!
