I want someone totally unaffiliated with Purdue or the Keady coaching tree.
I want someone who doesn't believe in the blue collar, tough defense, grind it out, do more with less mentality.
I especially don't want someone who buys into the excuse that Purdue has any disadvantages in recruiting.
It's absolutely ridiculous watching these 12-15 seed teams with much better athletes and especially better guards.

You gotta play defense.... But you also gotta play offense. I want a coach that will do both.
 
I agree with the OP, but we will need to accept that there will be a transition period in which he will have to either modify his coaching/playing style to fit the players he inherits or try to push the players to play his way as best they can. Shaka Smart could not take our roster and play his way.

There's nothing wrong with this and it could be not too bad, but that is a reality .... and yes, I am willing to accept that.

Tiller was able to do it quickly when he took ove that FB program. I remember him putting the fastest players on the field. He was moving defenders to offense and offensive players to defense. A good coach would adjust quickly. Look at Gregg Marshall. He would have this group in the FF. we play a very similar style to them as well.
 
It's a welcome sight seeing this thread. I'm tired of this belief that they can find some obscure "Diamond in the rough" coach that nobody knows about. It worked once with Tiller. Nothing since. Hazell has about 2 more years and he's a flop unless we see something to the contrary.

We need to get him before someone else does. He will not be at that mid-major for very long

Painter isn't going anywhere any time soon fellows. Not saying I agree but he's not. He showed so much promise his first 5-6 years I'm not sure what happened
 
I seriously think Painter deserves an extension!

He's RIGHT ON THE CUSP of getting things figured out long term.

He just needs more time. A LOT more time.

I think Darner is someone to seriously consider. His philosophies are completely different offensively. Mixes his defenses more. I'm impressed with the job he has done with Green Bay in one year.

Sorry, no. Don't want Darner, don't want Zo, don't want anyone affiliated with Purdue in anyway. I want a total change in the culture and philosophy of the program. I want someone to come in and expect to reach Final Fours, expect to recruit the best players in the state, expect the fans to expect more.

Purdue was good/above average this season - in a very average Big Ten.
Beat them when we needed to I guess.
More than I can say for some other teams.
