Football season tickets for 2024 sold out.

I bought the way they finished with an off season and talent coming in as reason to think they could win 4-6 yes. Not even you thought they’d be this bad.
I certainly thought it a possibility with the way the D played most of the year last year.

The X factor was the O and it’s been significantly worse.

Not the offense but yes I thought the defense would continue to suck because the coaching and scheming wouldn’t change.
Sure, but that doesn’t mean it gets worse. So you didn’t have it looking this bad. Thanks for finally answering the question.

I can't speak for pboiler but I thought they would be this bad. It is the reason I told the JPC rep that " I have no faith in the current coach" as my reason for not renewing after 28 years of season tickets.

after- the- fact Nostradamus-esque claims aside, it’s not surprising Purdue sold out its season ticket allotment:

An intimate, beautiful stadium that sells beer— smack in the middle of a spectacular campus that ooozes tradition and pageantry….

Now— is the on- field product putrid this season? Absolutely, but I don’t see how the atmosphere for the doma or duck games was anything less than amazing….

I guess it’s a bad case of separation anxiety for me—being on the east coast, and rarely ever having the chance to be in West Lafayette in the fall, but I’d jump at the chance to have season tickets if I was nearby!

Did you post it here? Just curious.

I’ll be on campus this Saturday, and I’m not going to ruin the afternoon by subjecting myself to this brand of “football”.

Just curious. Are you still enthused about the 2024 Boilermaker Football team? Bless your heart.
I’m enthused we moved on. Was blatantly obvious from snap 1 of 2023 we were woefully under coached. 2024 only showed what a 4-6 win talent wise team actually looks like with dead weight at the helm.

Don’t think we’ll be significantly more talented this year but there should be discipline, focus, scheme, forethought and all the things an absentee coach won’t bring.

Not anointing Odom a home run but he’s probably the closest thing I can think of to what we needed. Grit. Toughness. Discipline. A get shit done attitude. Hopefully it beats itself out on the field. That’s a start

Lots of folks knew it was a poor hiring process. A defensive coordinator who’s never been a head coach, at Purdue? One whose “defenses” got shredded by our last coach?

Whose defense was #1 in Total Defense and #3 in advanced metrics, even with Purdue torching him?

I'm not defending his atrocious tenure at Purdue, but to insinuate he was anything other than a rising star is being disingenuous.

A rising star would have head coaching experience even at the high-school level.

This was the biggest failure of any AD.

Barry was a HC prior.. what are you on.

Still crushing over walters. He got a new coaching gig. Go root over there
He was not a HC prior to going to Mizzou.

I'm not crushing over Walters, he was not ready to be a HC. Good DC. Not HC. You made a dumb claim, I proved it wrong, then you proceeded to tell me I was wrong. Idk what your criteria is and you still haven't given it.

Hiring a coordinator hasn’t worked in my lifetime.

At Purdue? Or for any program? And just because it hasn't worked doesn't mean it can't.
Purdue’s is the job we’re discussing.

And it’s possible that a hiring a high school coach could work. Maybe we can do that next time.

OR......... it could be that Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oregon, Northwestern, and Penn State fans found it easier and more economical to buy season tickets and sell the games they don't want than buy the leftover single game tickets in the end zone.
It's a bad look for Purdue when our opponents fans are sitting in premium seats on the east side of the stadium......

Interesting thread (and I forgot I started it). Found out after the fact that ticket brokers did buy some of the season tix, calculating they could make back their investment + profit just selling the premium games.
