I had to decompress today after the roller coaster yesterday. I'm going to try and fight through the frustration and give you my two cents worth. I've read most of the posts and it's always interesting to see the different perspectives that everyone has. Just like everything you have your far left and far right opinions. I mostly ignore those because the reality for me is somewhere in the middle. Here goes...
We are starting to look like a B1G team. Our line play on both sides was better and we do have some legit power 5 players. Not sure we have enough but we do have some that will play on Sunday's.
We are going to win a few games this year. Sorry to say that I feel like the max is most likely 4 but we are going to win this year starting with ISU on Saturday.
We seem to have a couple of very nice young running backs that run very hard. Not sure they can have success against conference foes but we shall see.
That being said...I'm really really frustrated like most everyone else. Shoop is awful. His situational play calling is unreal.
I have coached at the high school level and I always got a chuckle out of parents and fans that knew more than we did as a staff even though they never attended a practice or knew strengths and weaknesses of our kids. Therefore I'm always a little reluctant to second guess a coach with personnel choices but if AA's our best option then we need to be recruiting better or find schemes that fit his skills better.
Start piling on but I still like Hazell. I also like Hudson very much. We must beat ISU, BG, IL and IU. If we can do that along with pulling off just one upset then I'm still buying instead of selling. Keep the faith Boiler fans. I still think there's a special place in heaven for us after putting up with all of this
