Book 'em Danno, we did.Fleck is heading to Mnny so I guess we'll get to see if we got the better end of the deal when we go against them. Personally I think we did, but we'll see.

Yep...Claeys is no Mensa member. If you've ever heard him interviewed he makes Danny Hope sound like a Rhoades Scholar but I tend to sympathize with his comments regarding the Title IX mandated investigation conducted that was in addition to the earlier university and police dept investigations of the original incident. Seemed like "piling on" to me and once the new AD shopped around and finally found someone or entity that confirmed wrongdoing, he had the excuse he needed to fire Claeys.Different subject but Claeys' statement about being proud of his boycotting players is so stupid that it was grounds for dismissal in itself.
I'm glad for Fleck. and I'm glad for Purdue. Fleck made it a priority that he would coach his team through their bowl game. And he stuck to that promise. With what is being said today about his salary, I can believe his agent did reach a contract agreement with our search committee. However, Purdue was not willing to wait until after the Cotton bowl to hire him. it would have been today if we had waited. and it would be 2 more weeks before he names a staff. And looking at our team, we would not have been able to recruit and sign the players we did if we were waiting for Fleck. the players who wanted to enroll early would have enrolled early somewhere else.
As it stands, we've added 9 players since Brohm arrived, he's evaluated our team and has targeted many more players. if we had waited for Fleck, the process would start next week, and we would have lost out on some great talent.
Simply stated, we needed the jump start Brohm has given our program.
I just think Brohm is a better coach than Fleck. ESPECIALLY FOR PURDUE! Purdue needed an Offensive identity. We got exactly what we needed. Brohm is our man.
