Fleck wants 3.5 million a yr

What makes anyone think Fleck would come here, even with a good contract. There will be plenty of P5 openings at the end of the season and we will be at the bottom of the list.
I think the biggest reason he would take it is that you can't do much worse. We will win maybe one game this year and it is not to hard to double your win total. He didn't inherit a very good team at WMU either and now he's the best thing since sliced bread in the zoo.

Doormat of the MAC? In the Bill Cubit years (8 years), they were 51-47 with 3 Bowls, including against us in the Little Caesar's Bowl. In the 4 with Fleck they're 20-21. I wouldn't call them a doormat.
His first year Fleck was 1-11, I would not call that the cat bird's seat. That is the doormat. You don't take over a program, (by the way in Cubit's last year he was 4-8 record and 5th in the west, not exactly a great program to inherit either) and be the change agent for the good and expect to win right away. He has developed the kids and got his kids in there and now he starts to win. By the way only 7 seniors total starting on O and D and special teams. Things look bright for WMU and Fleck. I hope we have the opportunity to see what he can do to fill up Ross Ade again!!!

Wasn't a new QB? How many starts did Rob Henry have under his belt?

How many did Etling have?

How many did the OL as a whole have?

Id love to hear ANY example of a team starting 3 freshmen, 4 underclassmen overall on either line and having success.
Who said success? I said we should have gone 4-8 or 5-7.

WMU is now leaded the BIG West Division 2-0. If they played the Boilers, probably would be 3-0. Could possibly get to 5-0 with wins ore Minnie and IU. Would wait to see how their year plays out, but if they go far, have to at least consider him, in spite of the negative response from hiring yet another MAC HC.

I think one thing that would help, Purdue has shown they are not quick to pull the trigger and can a coach if he doesn't turn it around quickly. So he would know he has time to build it up the way he wants to.

Not saying he would take the job, but that is a reason coaches would consider Purdue if the money is right.
