Well, doesn't feel like we played very well that half and it's all tied up. Hopefully Painter makes some adjustments, we start getting some rebounds (a lot of those seemed like Tenn just outhustled us) and win this thing.

Tenn guys are just quicker off the bounce when going up for rebounds. Reminds me of the KU game last March. They are just jumping so much faster than our guys. This is the type of time I thought wheeler would help.

They have better athletes and they are not even playing that well - 33% from the field and they look disjointed on offense.

Tenn is just way more athletic than us. I think the key to winning is to run good offense. Get the shots we want and can make. Avoid the bad shots - especially from 3 than turn into fast break opportunities.

Play as good of D as we can, but these guys are quicker and stronger than us. We may be longer in a couple positions tho.

Additionally, I see some Marquette game for Purdue where they (Purdue) hurry and are not quick. AS wooden said...be quick, don't hurry. Guys, make your first move to get someone open instead of thinking what you are going to do once you get the ball. Lets get them in rotation due to some screens and get some timing. Slow down and play with a purpose..once you are in a half court game. Lets put them on D when we don't get a transition or quick down and play smart. When Purdue was up 9 with less than 3 minutes, it was time to raelly play smart and push that to 12-15 and then get on it the first 5 of the second hald. Instead, the lead was lost and now the MO is with Tennessee.

Boards...guys you are getting pushed around inside and too far under...blocking out is NOT standing in front of someone. Purdue has made this game a LOT harder than it needed by not embracing the GRIND and trying for the KO that led to a 9 point loss.

Now it is tied...Tennessee is more confident, pressure is on Purdue and Purdue needs to execute...execute...execute and quit trailing their players. Are they that good at the 3 off their dribble?

This game may tell us about Wheeler for this year...

damn...I should have just let you write... ;)

We are more skilled and smarter. They are stronger and quicker - they look be pretty unskilled and disjointed on offense. I think we will win but we will struggle against teams in the future that are stronger and faster than us but also have some skill.

"SKILL" is about execution...Purdue is NOT executing all the time down the court. A few good plays...and then some moments where the guy just tunes in once he gets the ball. Set some screens...work on position and play smart

Skill does not equal execution. We have some highly skilled shooters, but if they can't beat their defenders off the dribble to get open, they can't execute their great skill. My point is we have better shooters and run a more organized offense. they have bad shooters and run a disjointed offense but their strength and quickness makes up for their deficiencies in skill.

My point is that with skill YOU MUST EXECUTE. Sorry you didn't get that. There are soooo many things besides the obvious hustle plays, athleticism and horrible refs. We switcth all teh game so that Purdue can keep in front of shooters, but it is their inside scoring that killed Purdue. Final seconds...we switch again and Haarms goes to help and his man is left wide open by Carsen...and Vince wasn't deep enough. Carsen took some ill advised shots...and the SENIOR team didn't get enough going to the basket to get to the line towards the end..and settled for some open jump shots that were off.

I don't think Purdue played smart on O throughout, but especially teh last three minutes of teh first half. Embrace the grind and think the game is going to last 40 minutes instead of thinking you can take it easy and go for the KO.

Couldn't stop them inside. Taylor didn't hit the court and Matt didn'nt play his two bigs "any" to see if anyone other than Williams, #1 (plenty to guard him) or another due to teh boards could score. Smash mouth beat Purdue...
