Per GBI Twitter Looks like Purdue offered 2017 big man from Chile currently playing in Miami. Has offers from Louisville, Saint Louis, Missouri, and South Florida. Indiana,Georgia Tech, South Carolina watched him as well

I live in Colorado and from what I can tell, it sounds like he blew up this summer in club/international play and started getting some interest from P5 schools - then decommited when he sensed there may be a better opportunity than CSU

Has anyone seen clips of this guy? Any comparisons?

Lol, Painter is only recruiting international bigs from this point forward.

Young and developing Luis Scola
If true, I hope he chooses Purdue. I know very little about this young man, but his build looks a lot different than Haarms in that he is far more filled out at this stage. I see that he hit quite a few 3's in the U18 games. It seems like he would be a nice addition.

While doubtful that is the case, so? If they are successful who cares where they come from. It thought it was win at any costs with you haters on here anyway?

What decent foreign bigs has purdue ever had? None i can think of. Unless calasan or marcuis is the type of player you're looking for? Maybe a tendam?

There were 28 international players drafted by the NBA this season and Haase has received several high major offers since recently de-committing from CSU, including Louisville. I wouldn't worry about him being an international player.

Seems like an awful lot of those guys are drafted on potential, and drafted directly from overseas. How many big men come from Europe or wherever for college and are major contributors in the NCAA? Seems like a pretty low amount, but I don't have stats on it. Either way, IF we land Haase, hopefully he does very well.

I read your post and am confused. What does this obscure question have to do with this kid's abilities and skills? Why do you perceive any sort of pattern here? Let's ask if we have ever had a kid named Filipe or Philip or .... be a successful basketball player. Sorry, I see no relationship at all to his country or region of origin to his potential to be successful.

Felipe Haase. Is he the non-union Chilean equivalent of Isaac?

Haase visits Purdue tomorrow according to Adam Zagoria. It will be Haase's third visit out of four, with Missouri, Pitt, and South Carolina being the others. I like Purdue's chances.

Yes looking good here for Purdue.....although Pitt and Missouri strong as well.

Seems Painter and Stallings crossing over same recruits all of a sudden he is at Pitt.

South Carolina has a big man commit already.....but Martin has strong ties to South Florida.

From the front page looks like the visit went very well and Felipe Haase and his coach were impressed.

They have two more stops with "Slick Rick" and Frank Martin........not worried about Slick Rick on this one but I am worried about Frank Martin....he does well with kids from the South Florida area.

Looks like Purdue did well though and would be a great piece to the future of Purdue basketball and a great addition to the family.

Boiler Up!

I think you have to be concerned about Pitino, but with two highly rated power forward/center type recruits, plus another forward, already committed to Louisville, it's hard to see where Haase fits in Pitino's plans. I'm sure the other coaches are all pointing this out to him.

The stripper scandal doesn't seem to be hurting Louisville's recruiting at all, btw.

You just made my point and the reason why I am not worried about The L.

Frank Martin is who I am afraid of...even though they signed a big man about 3 months ago....but his ties to South Florida are deep.......

It actually may be helping.

Is Williams being recruited over? Of course not but it is getting tight for early playing time. I hope CMP has forgotten Williams and his FW connections are checking in with Williams .

I'm sure Quicky Ricky has already promised him 30 minutes a night.

Sounds like Painter served up some cow tongue for dinner according to article. Who says Painter doesn't pander to recruits? Lol
