Favorites of the ‘17 class

good thread going on about next year’s freshman, so I thought I would start one about this year’s newcomers. Since there were so many JC players, I think it’s ok to include them.

Who’s your favorite player on each side of the ball for the 2017 recruiting class, and why?

Offense - wright. He played the most of this group, so it’s a bit unfair to pick him. Still, I love his speed.

Defense - Mackey. I’m no scout, but his highlights looked good.

I’m hoping for Plummer. Blough and Sindelar appear to be great Boilers, teammates and individuals but I’m ready to have a “franchise” QB for the next three or four years.

Does LB McCollum count ? Yes, he was a grad transfer, but without Brohm, he would have never come here!

O: Stickford or Beach. Bulk them up and they could potentially play next year.

D: Derrick Barnes. Guy hits like a ton of bricks.

Co-sign. Beach has great size and was a fantastic addition. The Oline needs to improve and Beach, Stickford, and the '18 class really seemed to address that.

Defense: Barnes shows loads of potential, but I can't wait to see Mackey play. He should start next year! Barnes will Probably start as well. Not signing Craft and losing all the seniors means somebody will need to step up. Hoping it's Barnes. He certainly looks the part.

O: I am still hopeful on DJ Edwards turning into a good player.

D: Derrick Barnes, hands down. I think he's going to be a good one.

For some reason,when this past season started I thought Derrick Barnes would be good,and He impressed me several times.On the offensive side no one really stood out but I think Darius Pittman has a lot of potential and may turn out to be real good.

Well the top five offensive prospects all had a red shirt. One of the olinemen and at least one of the receivers should see decent minutes. Could be Beach or Stickford. And for WR could be Hamilton or Edwards. My guess is Beach and Edwards but who knows at this point. Got to get through camp and see who's taking the reps.
