And 7 assists to one turnover.
Did you copy and paste the second half of your reply from a Nittany Lions Wire post game article? All coaches focus on the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half. It's a proven crucial 5 minutes!
Purdue had a 30-9 run to start the second half and the Nittany Lions were caught chasing the rest of the way in a 76-63 setback Sunday evening.

I was just curious because I read the article after reading your post and thought there’s no way that was a coincidence hahaI copied it from somewhere.
I have been a Purdue basketball fan back to the days of Rick Mount. In all those years I have not seen multiple freshmen with this level of game-savvy and maturity on the same team.
The first 12 minutes of the second half might have been the best Purdue has played since Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't quite the same level of competition, but it was a tougher environment.
The team showed it has backbone this week. The Rutgers loss was Purdue's first real test of adversity--and they responded very well.
On one level I agree with you, but the demands of being a true point guard are so great that I have to put Smith in a different category than any freshman that I have seen at Purdue.I’d argue Hummel and Moore were equally savvy and mature (and perhaps Lewis and Mitchell in 84-85), but you’re absolutely correct.
I wouldn’t argue that.On one level I agree with you, but the demands of being a true point guard are so great that I have to put Smith in a different category than any freshman that I have seen at Purdue.
Smith is the key imo. Smith being aggressive is what Purdue needs to go far. In that Rutgers game, he only took 3 shots which isnt going to get it done. He's been way more aggressive hunting his shots these last 2 games. If we hope to go anywhere in March, he's got to play like this.Braden Smith:
9.4ppg 5.0 rpg 3.7apg
Shooting 44.9/42.8/87.8
According to Gregg Doyle no freshman has done this for a full season
Smith was reminding me of Steve Nash with those lobs to Edey. Seems like we could probably set up Furst with some of those as well.
