I know it is early and I will ask this again before start of the season later this year but I want to get a feel for the Purdue fans base.

I know some domino's still need to fall with AJH and Biggie and other stuff in the program but was is your gut feeling and expectations for next year right now?

I predict 24+ wins, top 2 if not win the Big Ten finish and at minimum a Elite 8 if not Final 4.

This team has too much talent not to do that....will they is TBD.

What are your thoughts.......

BTFU!

Right there with you, brethren, but we've got to get tougher inside. And we all know how to do that....

If Hammons and Biggie are in boiler uniforms next season the sky is the limit. Not to mention a healthy Stephens who hopefully finds some consistency. We will easily have the best bench next season with: Basil, Stephens, Mathias, Scott, Cline, Taylor, Haas, and Weatherford (assuming Thompson, Davis, Edwards, Swanigan, and Hammons start)

Why is everyone so confident Swanigan will come to Purdue? I mean, I hope as much as the rest of you do that he does come here, but isn't it a little early to get even predicting a team WITH him, seeing how history is against us? And how MSU is looking like they will somehow pick him up, IMO?

Hope this doesn't fall under the "negative" comments section, because it's not, I just don't want to get my hopes up on a certain recruit for numerous reasons.

I still think if AJ comes back we are a top 3 BT team, 22+ wins in the regular season.

No Biggie, but......2nd or 3rd in B1G; Sweet 16 in tourney. This assumes the pg position is stable.....and that finish will be considered by many (not me) a good year at Purdue.

Painter just needs more talent to compete @ a higher level than that. (Like the optimism that Swanigan is coming to Purdue, but history tells me this in not the case).

I think if A.J. comes back and the team is healthy.a record of 24 or more wins is possible.

Would you consider that a bad year then? LOL

It is pretty early, but there needs to be more guard consistency before I would call them one of the top 8 teams in the country. I think the team as it stands will be a top 25 team with sweet 16 type of potential. The conference schedule should be really interesting in addition to who loses who to the draft/transfer and what late additions are made due to blue chippers and transfers. Collegiate basketball feels more like free agency in the off-season than ever before.
