Maybe he likes talking trash to opposing coaches and being a generally unsavory character and knows that type of thing is allowed at Xavier.
I agree - just another example of a guy-kid going somewhere that makes no logical sense to an adult. I have far too many stories of this exact thing ... most did not turn out well; thus the dearth of transfers in recent years.
I just spent some time with a true 4-star with offers from UCLA, AZ, and OK .... and chose another school who is not in the top 50 at this time.
Was shocked to read Steve Stricker stating he could not believe the behavior of the players against Wisky. I live in Cincinnati, Macura told Cronin to f off several times. And of course the Cincinnati newspaper backed coach Mack and Macura.
Eh coach Painter had Brandon Dawson jaw at him (almost) every time they played. I don't remember Painter ever giving him shit back or calling the kid out after the game. I wouldn't be surprised if Dawson let some curse words into his trash talk directed at CMP. I dont recall Izzo benching Dawson for jawing at Painter. I doubt Painter would have benched a player for trash talking an opposing coach once in a heated game, but if it became a recurring situation I bet that he would. Painter just has more class and preaches along the lines of 'act like you have been there before, even if you haven't'. That said, it doesn't surprise me that Isaac caught Dawson with a good one and I'm sure that was due to Dawson trash talking the whole game and the whole team and not just at CMP.
Xavier has a very nice and winning program. Does not get the national attention they would like. Nice but small and kinda not safe area of town. Bluiett has done well. Do not think he got in any trouble for his weed stop. Cincinnati nice small city. But, not Big 10 and no football team.

I remember that and still don't think that was an unacceptable reaction. That's why I brought it up, painter had one sentence to say and let go. Izzo had a one sentence response. Didn't seem as dramatic as the Cronin Mack Macura stuff at the time and looks pretty tame rereading the article from my perspective at least.
