Evan Battey chooses Colorado...

looks like he wanted to play closer to home but still, losing out to colorado hurts.

This is not really much of a loss, I look at him as a Jacob Lawson-esque project, while there is nothing wrong with that, I will not lose sleep over having him not commit.

Boiler up my friends!

I don't see the comparison with Lawson. I thought that he looked like a good fit, but it doesn't matter now. On to the next ...

Lawson not in comparison of size, but the skills that needed to be developed I believe we can find better. I don't know why everyone is hitting the panic button, have some faith.

But who else remaining on our recruiting board is any better than Lawson? For balance the 2017 recruiting class should have at least 3 legit players.

Not everyone is hitting the panic button.

That said, Lawson was a high flyer with limited skills. Battey looks very skilled, but plays below the rim. Battey looked like a much better fit for what Painter expects out of the four position.

Hard to see us getting 3 contributors at this point with everyone we have missed out on. Hopefully CMP has something up his sleeve but I'm not holding my breath.

Literally nothing like Lawson. Lawson was an above the rim, no-skill player.

Battey is a below the rim, skilled player.

Or, just acknowledgment of the reality of the matter that Painter has failed to land a single recruit for a class that he targeted years ago and saved scholarships for so as to have enough of them for it.

Don't jump!

This. I know it sounds like sour grapes, but the guy was barely in the top 150. I'm sure we can do better, either this year with Tillman or in 2018.

If guys leave early, we can plug in some Grad transfers to hold down the fort.

All in on Eastern and Tillman, right?

From what I read, Battey was projected to play center. A 6'7" center at Purdue feels pretty strange given the players we've had the past few years. I'd like to have gotten him, but it's not the end of the world. I wish him all the best in Colorado and hope his family gets to see him play as much as possible.
