My brother is an IU insider (sits three rows from the court at BB games) and he says it's Tony Bennett...Who are the other candidates? Surprised Alford isn't interested. He always was a bit of a strange dude, imo.
Why would he want to leave UCLA...Great weather...great golf all year...for Bloomington, Indiana, home of the dumpiest trailers in the United States? Once again, Indiana University's history as a Blue Blood program is just that....history, and if it's Miller, Mack, or any of the other drunken love affairs the GNU IU fans area having wet dreams about ...sorry for their luck.Maybe IU can get Kelvin Sampson back, isn't he good?
Bennett's sister was screwed over by IU, and Bennett said he'd never coach at IU. Maybe that's changed, but I doubt it. IMO IU's two best hires would have been Alford first, and Bennett second.
Alford was interested. IU was not.Maybe IU can get Kelvin Sampson back, isn't he good?
Alford said after the firing of Knight that he would never coach at IU. And he was in no way interested this time.Alford was interested. IU was not.
Why would Alford want to relocate his entire life when Hoosier Nation wanted no part of him...it would have been one ugly situation. how could he not know? all he had to do was surf the internet and make a few calls. it was pretty obvious they didn't want him down there and if they did, it was genius of him to turn it down... he would have been defleeced by IU fans eventually. and besides, i couldn't stomach hearing about the sacred son for the next 4 years (after which he would have been fired)Alford said after the firing of Knight that he would never coach at IU. And he was in no way interested this time.
