Ernie Banks interview

I listened to an interview with Ernie Banks on NPR the other day and found he had such a wonderful and positive view of his sport. The interviewer asked him how he dealt with the disappointment of losing (he was a Cub, mind you). He said that he just enjoyed playing the game for his own personal enjoyment and accomplishments and never considered going to another team. Winning a championship wasn't themost important thing to him. He just loved playing baseball for the Cubs. He said that baseball was "important, just not that important."

Mr. Banks was right and that last quote should be remembered by many when thinking about sports.
