Enthusiastic

I'm going to have to reel myself in a little. The staff hires and recruiting have really exceeded my expectations. I think we've got it right this time. Here's to a great 2017. BTFU!
me too, the times are a changin. I thought in B Ball, that Eastern was msu's and we got him, now w/ Brohm we got some mojo.

That said, the bar had been set so low with who/what preceded him that mere competence and any success in terms of staff hires or recruiting are easy to appreciate.

Brohm seems like a good hire and a guy that knows not only what he is doing (especially on the offensive side of the ball), but has some plans as well as to what he would like to do...it will all come down to his ability to recruit though (and that would be the case with whoever had been hired)...hopefully he can have some big success there next year and then moving forward.

I am a big fan of purdue basketball and have not a fan at all about are football team. I am now a fan of football now very excited to watch are football team. thank you coach Brohm
Woof.

Let me guess...big IU basketball supporter?

not the case. I grew up in a IU household and was forced to watch IU basketball. I have a been a Purdue fan form around the late 70's. I just didn't enjoy watching football but since the coaching change I have been following it very close and forward to watching football this season. My son has two years under his belt at purdue but has chose to take a break and serve are country in military intelligence for the US Army. So i am not a IU supporter in any way shape or form.

Here's what is even better: The B1G isn't very good, especially the West. The road to getting back into contention isn't that far away in spite of these miserable years. Wisky and MN are our big obstacles. Forget NE and IA - they are beatable - the coaching is pedestrian. We've hired a guy with both feet moving as soon as they hit the ground unlike Haz who recognized that he hit the apex of his career with a bowl game with Kent. With a few good recruits and having a guy that can make the kids believe no tellin what next year might hold. Finally, a reason for optimism.

I might be punch drunk from years of beatings but I think we look back on this day as being a huge one for our program. Welcome to all the new staff. BTFU
Yet some idiots are complaining because he hired family and they don't see names they know.

He hired WKU coaches (not B10 level) he's recruiting WKU level recruits. And you're right, he's recruiting family...taking care of his own on a Purdue payroll. I don't see PU competing for big bowls under him, or even making one for at least three years if then. I'm not saying he's as bad as Hazell, just that he's about the same. But one thing for sure, like DH, he's one hell of a lot richer.

Yeah, hiring a successful coach and having him bring almost his whole staff to Purdue has never really worked for us.

What's he supposed to do at this point? Go out and steal recruits from P5 teams? Brohm has had a great 30 days so far. This year is not the year to showcase him and his staffs recruiting skills. Year 2 and especially year 3 will be more telling. You may not see a future of success for Brohm, but writing him off this early shows your lack of faith in the new staff before they even can showcase what they can do for Purdue.

Has Brohm hired a running back coach yet? Seems like Chris Barclay is the likely candidate since he served as the running back coach at WKU. WKU's running back was outstanding last season. Plus, I think Barclay is a very good recruiter in GA & FL...

As of right now, we have not hired an RB coach. But I agree with you 100% about Barclay. I believe he is the best candidate for the RB job.

CJB will re-establish recruiting in Indiana and Illinois, that the former coach did not care about. Along with the other states that he has been getting players from already, no doubt it's gonna take a couple years to see results. I just believe he's really locked in and he's gonna get this Train headed back in the right(winning) direction!
Boiler Up!
