I was totally impressed today by the way that Edey played. Cockburn has been dominating recently, but he had no answer on either end against Zach. I doubt anyone else in the country could do that against Kofi.
Yes. I was at the game and the lllini players and fans seemed shocked that Zach had his way with Kofi. After his first basket, a boiler fan sitting next to me stood and told the entire section(90% illini fans) that Kofi had no chance against Edey. He continued this the entire 1st half and Zach kept backing his claims. Fun to watch both on the court and in the stands.I was totally impressed today by the way that Edey played. After the foul trouble, they let Kofi when he came back and other centers foul at will. Zach did not score much after that. No knock on Zach, no fouls called on Illinois for last 12 +minutes in second half.
Underwood should have at least had to cash in a "T" for that service.
That said, and I can't believe I'm going to type this.....Bo wasn't as bad as usual.....I had more issues with Carstensen, but I think the calls probably evened out for the most part with Purdue being on the road. I did hate the quick double T from Bo, but I loved to see Big Tre stick up for his teammate without escalating the situation.
Good game, and Illinois is going to be a load to deal with. Purdue could see them two more times, and I don't think too many teams want to see the Illini in their bracket come March.
Edey has been much more talkative this year. I dont remember him having much emotion last year.Once Edey started talking and shaking his head saying things like "they can't stop me" you knew Kofi was in for a long day. Love the confidence from our usually quiet big man!
He's a leader now!Edey has been much more talkative this year. I dont remember him having much emotion last year.
Confidence...from last year, and, especially this summer.Edey has been much more talkative this year. I dont remember him having much emotion last year.
I am SO with you...I am stunned that Bo was not as bad as usual...as soon as I saw him there today, I could not help but think that Purdue was in trouble, and, had another obstacle to overcome.Underwood should have at least had to cash in a "T" for that service.
