Does he shoot them this year?

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Does TKR take the post when Zach holds the ball out top and does this allow Zach to let it fly?

I would hope, for developing his future game and to open the lane. But I’d be thrilled if he could just face up to the basket instead of play with his back to it the whole time. I think, statistically, it just makes more sense for him to shoot 1-3 footers cuz no one is pushing him off the block and it’s a high % shot.

Yep, let the shooters shoot the 3's and let the best rebounder in the Nation clean up the misses.

What is the point to have him shoot the three instead of other players who are much better other than trying to impress some nba scout? Do you want Purdue to play team ball or do you just want to hero worship Edey?

We are the same team with a year's experience and work. He's still the best player.....hopefully the guys around him get better.

Did you see the FDU game? Shooters missing shots and Edey being guarded down low by three players? He already steps out to the top of the key. Why not let him let it fly?

Also, “hero worship?” Did you not get your bran this morning?

If he makes 40 percent he can shoot all he wants
He’d be the best 3pt shooter on the team! Def would bump him into a top 10 draft pick if he can do that haha…would be tough to block his 3 pt shot….would he shoot it down into the hoop then?!?!?

If he makes 40 percent he can shoot all he wants
10 3pt shots at 40% = 12 pts
10 2pt shots at the 70% he shoots in the paint = 14 pts

Some of you have some really "interesting" opinions on what to do with a 7'5" guy. sure, lets put him 25' from the basket....

Oh, and he's the BEST REBOUNDER IN THE NATION.............. so.................

NO, he can't.

I don't think anyone is asking that Edey comes off curls or does step backs, although that would be something.

There are numerous times throughout the game in which Edey is already away from the basket or at the 3pt line in the natural flow of the offense. Provided he can hit those outside shots at a decent clip, seems like he should be able to shoot a few of those per game.

If Edey can do that, it really opens things up especially against teams that are going all in on hacking Edey and hoping the refs only call 1/3 of the fouls.

Additionally, Edey playing in the NBA bodes well for Purdue imo. He's going to need to have some threat of an outside shot to probably stick around in the NBA.

He shot 60 percent from the floor last year...sooooooo...having a big man who can shoot changes the floor spacing and limits the defense. Several guys on this list averaging double digit rebounds. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/best-3-point-shooting-centers-and-power-forwards-in-the-nba
