Drew Brees as QB coach.

It's been reported that Brees is going to be the QB coach for our bowl game this year.

Not sure if that's a good or bad thing as it kinda signals that AOC might not be playing...

Well, if it ends up being true, I might watch the bowl game to see Drew and how the young QBs look (if we still have Alaimo and/or Allen still on our roster), because let's be honest this is going to be just like Auburn.

I said for weeks that I don't think AOC and Jones will play. This was before all the things with Brohm. This game doesn't really help either one of them as far as the draft. It is going to be combines and team meetings now that will help or hurt their draft stock.

Any word on if Bill S Preston and Ted Theodore Logan are bringing Tiller back into the mix?

Why do a lot of people think players, who were really good players , will be a good coach and want to coach
I think Drew would be a fine coach and a HUGE recruiting draw. But why would he uproot his family and move to West Lafayette to endure the grind of being an assistant college football coach? The guy doesn’t have to work another day in his life.

Arrgh! Good point. I'm thinking he can do the recruiting there pretty quickly. :)
You know what ? He’s gonna be on tour there anyway, he can do his in home visits then!

“Hey Hoff- there’s a big nasty offensive tackle named Rolf Becker in Bremerhaven…can u swing by and see him before your show tomorrow ?”

Doesn’t hurt to ask. What’s the worst he can say…no? Guarantee he’d bring in better QB recruits than the Brohms

I doubt Brees wants to live in West Lafayette, but you never know. There are rumors out there that he might coach with Payton if Payton takes another job in the NFL which makes more sense, although obviously I would rather him be the offensive cordinator of Purdue, but not sure he would want that, but you never know...woth asking.

He bought a house last year in West Lafayette

Like I said it doesn’t hurt to ask. I’m not on the bandwagon of hiring a bunch of former Purdue greats to fill the staff just because they played at Purdue but if a guy like Brees or Kerrigan may be interested why not? This team needs more star power and I’m sure they could pull in some good ones.

Could be testing the waters to see how it goes. I think he did that broadcast gig and figured out pretty quickly it wasn't for him. This way, he likes what he does, maybe signs up for a year as the QB coach, maybe 2 years. What a freaking great opportunity for the QB's to learn from the Master.

Has anyone heard if he will actually be at the bowl prep practices or just help at the bowl game? Either way having him on the sidelines is great!
