This was the 2022 Purdue softball schedule (non-conference)
In 47 Days they played in 4 states and 32 games. Most tournaments were Friday, Sat, Sunday. I assume (but don't know for sure) that they arrived on Thursday's and left late Sunday afternoons. Did they return to campus for M-W classes or did they stay in the area given that 3 tournaments were in Central Florida?
No matter what, this schedule is much more grueling than a trip to USC or UCLA once a year for the football team.
My guess is that the softball and baseball teams will welcome the addition of the WC teams because they can travel to SoCal for conference games early in the season and potentially save some non-conference games for April or May in the Midwest.
When you look at the 32 games that they played in the south - 6 were against Midwest teams.
