I wasn't touting ILL, it was to show how dramatically some teams will have altered their next season outlook vs what they had at the end of last season. "Someone" is going to be REALLY good that nobody saw coming. Hopefully it's us....Clearly, we should just fold & grant them the championship today.......lol
Kinda sounds like iu declaring an off season champion......but unlike iu, at least this Illinois team has skill players and a decent Coach. And yes if they do get Riley back, they would be much better. I see him in the draft though.
Appreciate the clarification - didn’t think you were crowning Illinois. I think Underwood has his work cut out for him to turn them into a contender. He has had a massive amount of roster turnover which makes it hard to have continuity.I wasn't touting ILL, it was to show how dramatically some teams will have altered their next season outlook vs what they had at the end of last season. Illinois also said this last year about their team all offseason and how they were “underrated”…
Well everyone sees Purdue as a NC contender 😂 so they aren’t surprising anyone.I wasn't touting ILL, it was to show how dramatically some teams will have altered their next season outlook vs what they had at the end of last season. Only took 4 post to mention them lol.I am sure these were the same type of "experts" that picked IU to be second in the BT preseason last year with all of their transfer talent that they had gotten.
Maybe IU can surprise us in the upcoming season and actually make the NCAA Tournament this year.
Either your being ignorant or you just have not followed the spring recruiting, but most experts have had Purdue as the favorite before the recruiting battles began, so NOBODY who follows college basketball knows Purdue will not be the someone that NOBODY saw coming, but it sounds like you qualify!I wasn't touting ILL, it was to show how dramatically some teams will have altered their next season outlook vs what they had at the end of last season. MehThe Fighting Illinics should be good. Don't know what kind of defense they will have but you can guarantee it'll be one hell of an offense.
For sure. But he's a good coach and someone is going to do it (be very good), so hoping it's not them.Appreciate the clarification - didn’t think you were crowning Illinois. I'm going to let that epic piece of whatever rest on it's own merits. Gonzaga does this pretty regularly and does quite well with deep runs. I think Illinois will be pretty solid next season. Underwood is a solid coach, and he snagged some good talent from overseas. Might take a while to get them playing well together but Illinois has been a mercenary squad for a number of years now, and Brad seems to be able to get them at least respectable most years.Illinois also said this last year about their team all offseason and how they were “underrated”…
Not convinced their euro players will be that good. We haven’t seen euro guys transition that quick and make a huge difference where the team does really well (wins conf title and go far in NCAAT).
Underwood’s successful teams have retained a really good core from the previous year and they didn’t really do that this year with who they’ve retrained.
And add that he has been past the second weekend one time in his coaching career, I’m not sold on underwood or the Illini.

Stand down. He's specifically referring to the strange comment you made, that someone no one saw coming is going to be really good, and "hopefully that's us." That's strange from the standpoint that EVERYONE sees Purdue being a top team next year, so we're not a team that "no one saw coming."I'm going to let that epic piece of whatever rest on it's own merits. yes, you are being ignorant.
