Does the NBA Evaluate Hammons as a First Rounder

Obviously if he leaves Hammons will play Pro somewhere. Question is does he want a nice paycheck. Or does he want to come back next year. Put in the work to improve and possibly get that NBA 1st rd guaranteed contract.

Zero chance he's a first rounder.

Many don't even have Frank Kaminsky as a lottery pick and have him as mid-to-late first rounder.

The question regarding Hammons is probably his ceiling. On one hand, he's improved considerably, become more consistent and has the size - and is older for his age. On the other hand, he's fairly limited offensively, still disappears/inconsistent, has some issues still one on one defensively - and can come back and be on a pretty good team where he has potential to be a Big Ten POY, but would be even older.

The question is - would he be able improve in his deficiencies enough to improve his standing significantly with one more year?I think he could be even more consistent and dominant given his Big Ten season this year, but I don't know if he'd extend his offensive range much in 1 year.

How much do you think age plays a factor? He will be what, 23 by the next draft? He isn't old at all and will be more developed than many of the incoming 1 and done's. I don't get the age thing at all.

To me age I think USED to be a factor, but players are playing longer now so I don't think it is as much of an issue anymore.

And teams are also looking for quick fixes, not long term solutions. I think for lottery picks, it could be a factor - if you're paying someone that much money - but I don't know about late first rounders/2nd rounders.
