For Nag to get the job he would have discard the "zone" word and be excited to interview CMP. He can't do that and talk with us as well. But now that he is a celebrity, we are not worthy. (sarc)
He went quiet after his god, Calipari, lost a game he should have won. It was a game that was supposed to teach Painter how it's done.
that minor difference cost Purdue several NCAA tournament victories and also cost them a winning season. the Johnson's lack of ability to hit a Ft forced Painter to change his coaching game plan late in games. he could either replace the johnsons with better FT shooting players to hold the lead which would lead to other problems in defending the opposition. or he could keep the johnsons in the game for those last 30 seconds and hope they were not fouled. Unfortunately, he chose the later, and they were fouled and they missed. if we had one those games, there would not have bee n as much press about Purdue always choking in the tourney. And it's not like the Johnsons choked. they were both just really bad FT shooters. And in a close game it cost us. Normally, in the tourney, your games are going to be close. And usually the teams that win have guards that make 80% of their Fts. they can ice the game away.
