Just read Cal will be inking a top 25 recruiting class and getting the top national player. We are stuck in the mud and spinning wheels.
Meanwhile, Texas A&M Chancellor was mulling a decision to potentially fire Kevin Sumlin in December 2015 and we sat on the sideline and watched. Where is our Administration when you need to make a bold move?

Yes, it costs big money to do this, but failure to do so will also cost money in Gate attendance, TV appearances, Purdue gear sales, etc. While it may be a wild card guess on my part, a short list of phone calls could have ponied up enough money to buyout Hazell and staff and get remainder of Sumlin's contract. If it would have taken Alumni funds and pleads to do so, it could have happened if they were serious.
Another year to see what happens, but anything like Hazell's previous 3 years and we may not get enough traction to see the program out of the dreaded La Brea Tar Pit.
Hell, I'm going to jump the tracks and say we may as well dump football and get soccer (futbal) it would be cheaper and may be a trend setter going forward. Setup the stadium to get a 10 year contract with Chicago Fire professional team to play on Saturdays for stadium costs and get National TV Exposure. It would be better than the Toyota Park near the railroad tracks and Midway Airport. Follow their setup with Purdue playing before their game to get butts in the stands.
I like college football and Purdue, but if we can't be competitive and have too much cost controls in place to ever sniff a BIG Championship, then we may as drop it like Marquette University did back in 1960. That takes some balls to do, but what are we doing right now?
