I said this for sometime, even posted about it here in the past. I was glad to finally hear it from Trump today.

Common sense to give block grants to the counties/states. Let the locals manage it.
1. They are closer to the situation.
2. They will respond quicker.
3. The affected then are directly connected to the political class managing the block grant.
4. Cutting out the federal FEMA salaries frees up more money to help.
5. Tiers of block grants can be established. If damage hits those those levels of qualifications.....they get those dollars immediately.
6. States then can petition Fed for more money as needed.
7. States have their national guards for assistance. Can petition feds for other fed help if needed

Afterall, there is NOTHING the federal Govt does well. They are the problem and if can be eliminated -- like in this case, need to be.

Maybe it sucks because of career politicians. And DEI. Put it and education back in the state's hands. And any other fed agency that needs to go. The Federal government needs to be reduced to 1/4 of what it is today.

We need to fire half of them and see what doesn’t get done, if anything, then hire back who we have to.

With 438 agencies & sub agencies, it is likely over 300 could be disbanded, and the USA wouldn't skip a beat.
