Did Brees try to get Foles to Purdue?

....just assuming he knew him since Foles was a high major recruit. Obviously they know each other now as Brees spoke with him and gave him advice for super bowl preparation.
I believe they got to know each other before that one game where they faced each other either last year or the year before where the announcers were saying this is the first time opposing qb's are from the same H.S.
Foles, who has had a good career in the NFL, wouldn't have fit what Purdue wanted in a QB.
He was a pocket passer who fit a pro style/vertical offense better than Purdue (who added dual threat Justin Siller that same year)

Tiller didnt know what he wanted at that point. Siller never made sense to me. Glad he chose purdue as he turned into a solid WR.
Panfil was a really good H.S. qb out of Texas, had no problem w/ his offer.
Top 20 dual threats. They differentiate between the 2.
The one thing i forgot about was a sub 50% completion percentage as a HS senior.
