Re: what really stinks...

Not clicking the link because nothing will ever be proven. Pointless rumor. Octeus is the reason we were in the dance to begin with.

Re: what really stinks...

Yep. Painter bribed the UCLA admissions department to deny Octeus after the start of the Fall semester.

Give me a break.

Re: what really stinks...

From the article you linked:

"Coaches in two of the biggest conferences made calls to Mr. White, according to phone logs he shared with The Chronicle. He says they discussed potentially impermissible visits, improper payments, and a plan to get the player's classes done that Mr. White did not think was possible."

Memphis has added transfer Calvin Godfrey to help bolster an already-talented front line, multiple sources told ESPN.

The 6-foot-7 Godfrey began his career at Iowa State before being dismissed for marijuana possession. He averaged 13.1 points and 8.8 rebounds last season at Southern -- and will be eligible this season due to Southern being ruled ineligible for the postseason due to poor APR scores.

"He is a high-major talent," one coach told ESPN.

UConn, according to sources, was interested in bringing Godfrey on board -- but the defending national champs wound up passing due to red flags. LSU also would not accept Godfrey.

Godfrey will add depth to a front line that already includes Shaq Goodwin and Austin Nichols.

Note: UConn and LSU are two High Major programs from different conferences.

You can't because there isn't.
What a gigantically stupid thing to say. Painter didn't cheat.

Re: what really stinks...

The author, Brad Wolverton, confused the facts a little. That happens when you produce a story about an anonymous guy referring to unnamed officials about unnamed players and coaches. Wolverton, a graduate of Indiana University, got Godfrey's timeline at Southern incorrect. It's unfortunate that you inferred, from those confused facts, something that casts a negative light on Jon Octeus, Matt Painter, and Purdue University.

Re: what really stinks...

Thanks to last night I have a lot more dumb asses that I don't have to read thanks to the ignore feature!!!

Re: what really stinks...

1. This article was posted and debunked on here WEEKS AGO!
2. You are not an investigative journalist, so piss off.

Re: what really stinks...

Your right. I didn't read the article, but I did look long enough to see that it was a confessions of an anonymous crook story. Why would you assume those confessions are accurate unless you have an agenda?

You are obviously not a regular reader of this board or you would know the real story behind the article. You post after a disappointing loss. Ergo, you are most likely a dumb-ass or a troll. Take your pick, I am putting you on my list.

Re: what really stinks...

What really stinks is that some lowlife that calls himself a Purdue fan can imply that cheating would be OK if we would have won. This is the first time I have ever directly called out a poster, but I would really prefer you not call yourself a Purdue fan. You are what stinks about sports in general.

Re: what really stinks...

I think this thread should be locked and pinned on the board permanently. This smear campaign against Jon by loosiers and others has really been remarkable. Especially since Jon has proven to be nothing but a high character guy since he set foot on campus. I guess if there was some attribute about Jon that made him unlikable other than the fact that he was a great player who dunked on your players then I could understand. But there's not, just a lot of butthurt that for once Purdue snagged an unlikely win in recruiting.

I like to think Purdue fans are better than making up fake names and going to opposing boards to troll but that is not reality. That's why we should pin this thread so that toPurdue is immortalized as the benchmark of a douchebag troll and how stupid you sound to all rational fans when you rip on good people. If just one Purdue fan saw this thread and realized it was a bad idea to rip on let's say Devon Davis for his car accident, it would be worth it..

No the easiest thing to do is not post this unfounded crap to begin with.

Yes. Ignoring something that has been proven to not be true to begin with, will indeed make it going away. Give it a rest already.

As mentioned above/before, it was proven WEEKS ago. You choosing to ignore it is not our problem so stop trying to push your agenda when there is nothing there to begin with.

Re: what really stinks...

I blame the Illuminati. They control everything and we are powerless to do anything about it. Why do you think everyone in the story is anonymous? Don't get too close to the truth, or you will disappear -- probably to be carried off by the mother ship to be marooned on Ganymede.

Get off your high horse. Nobody said it was okay, but it would of been a lot easier to take if it panned out a little better. Also, I'm the one debunking this months ago! In reality I was just blowing smoke, because there is nobody else that fit the description from the article other than Jon Octeus. A bunch of "posters" who call themselves "Purdue" fans jump on here and like to call people names, because that's how they roll. Let's play name the player who this article is talking about...

See above, I rest my case!

Yeah, well I was the one who "proved" it untrue weeks ago, Guess everybody has forgotten about that.. Yeah, a MSU person brought this up and I blew it up with a bunch of people who closely matched.. Reality is nobody else matched the description, and I didn't let this go because I challenged the original post myself and took the time and went through the transfer list myself. I've known since then that there was only one person who matched the facts stated in the article. Yeah, I didn't say anything else about it and probably shouldn't of, but that doesn't change the fabrications of the story.
FIFY.

I'm surprised that nobody else mentioned that John Octeus wasn't even at Purdue in 2013... nor was Purdue in the NCAA tournament.

Re: what really stinks...

Yeah, Octeus led his previous team, Colorado State, to the NCAA tournament in 2013.
