Damn, IU taking that asswhooping!

Granted I am making a judgement off the of highlights, but the Defense was horrid. That is the one thing i thought could be good for them but it was lazy, slow, reactive...it’s early so maybe they can recover to just not good.
For sure, but sometimes shit just happens. 99 times out of 100, Kansas is not 30 points better than us. Sometimes teams get hot and it blows to be on the receiving end. But even if ISU had missed 6 of those threes, they still win. Defense is certainly a main contributor.

I’m watching on student U now. The problems are numerous but n offense I thought Davis was pretty good inside but he got in foul trouble early. The guards and wings got no penetration they could finish and they had no outside shooting.
Defense. Ummm...well it was defense by name only. Allowed dribble penetration consistently. Got destroyed by pick and pops. Close outs were slow and didn’t pressure the shooter. ISU shot lights out from deep because it was just like shooting warmups.

Somewhere Tom Crean is snickering.

ISU cleared their bench, including walk-ons.

It was an IU home game.

Troll activity should be pretty quiet around here for the next few days.

Don’t know if you guys will consider this trolling or not, but here’s your IU fan opinion dose of reality:

Somewhere, Tom Crean Is thinking that the nice group of kids that he recruited to IU plays with very little heart, and that Archie Miller is going to massively turn over the roster in order to fill it with a group of kids that are not nice, but instead areextraordinarily angry when they suck. And that’s a good thing for IU.

This reinforces the thoughts that 1. Just being a 4/5 star does not assure sucess - it dies take heart and commitment and work ethic and team chemistry, and 2. Those recruits with the above attributes but a lower ranking can catch and surpass higher rankings and achieve success. Regardless, recruiting the "right" players is important. And Painter has done a great job of recruiting the right players and making them into a great team.

For most of his career CMP has. There were those 2 painful years of RJ and some other misses during that time. But it seems he learned his lesson. And were it not for Izzo crying, CMP might have a couple more highly rated recruits on the roster.

100 out of 100 times Kansas beats us last year. Caleb couldn't protect the rim. This year's team is a lot different as you can see. Indiana State was no fluke. Indiana lost their whole team early to the NBA. Same for Kentucky. Nothing beats having seniors. One thing I noticed last night Kentucky was losing by 12 in the second half and went to a simple 2-3 zone and scored 18 straight to take the lead. That was all coaching. That's why I'm gonna get a heck of a lot louder if Painter can't guide this veteran stacked team to a Final 4 because of his stubborn refusal to play zone.

This. No one could argue that ISU has anywhere near the talent that IU has. Until this game, everyone would say the same about coaching.

Interesting that if the Clapper was still in Gloomington the faithful would be predicting another FF run but now are ripping him for crappy recruiting. Last night's loss was all on him according to the Pigsters.
