Dakich trolled the entirety of IU, UK, PU, and CCoL...

In my mind Dakich just throws things out with no evidence like his hero does. He just tries to generate more listeners for his daytime show. You can bet his initial listening audience on Friday will be huge. Everyone will tune in to see how he handles Brohm's denial of his tweet.

Remember in 2011 when his sources, I am assuming the same ones, said Painter was going to Mizzou?
I know a trustee who was involved in the approval process for MP’s new deal. He was this close to going to Mizzou. It was never a done deal, but it was extremely close, and there were a few in close people who were prepared to let it happen.

Last spring he said/tweeted something about TJD reclassifying to 2018, then had to quietly walk it back later. He was right on Biggie, but other than that pretty spotty. Even IU fans are skeptical of his Brohm “scoop”.

He’s just trying to be first. The timing of it probably isn’t too far off, but the details and decision aren’t done yet, by any stretch.

Regardless, Dakich said he was gone.

At one point very late in the day, that would have been an accurate statement.
Why are you sticking up for Dakich? This was never true. I know, because the game I watched last night had Painter coaching Purdue. He may have been very, very close to leaving, but he didn't. This made Dakinch's tweet completely wrong.

I’m not sticking up for anyone, I’m just relaying the truth of what went on with MP.

Normally I am a fan of Dan Dakich. Generally he passes on good information and overall is fair to the Purdue fan base. Today on his show he started out by saying it may not happen and when I checked back in right before he went off the air he said Brohm is gone, no chance he stays, and asks why he would stay at Purdue. Kyle said something about more pressure at Louisville and Dan said no way. They just fired their most successful coach in their history for one bad year (and only sub .500 year). Purdue fans want him to get him a huge raise and lock him into a long deal right at .500. Dan doesn’t know much about Purdue football and their history or much about Brohm and his situation. My guess is that his source said they were getting money together and were going to offer him on that day and t was a done deal. Louisville fans are so arrogant that they think there is not a chance he would say no. What is not being taken into account is that he loves Purdue. Purdue isn’t WKU where they just can’t compete with facilities and staff pay. Going to Louisville doesn’t give him a better chance to win. Purdue is more set up now and with the ‘19 class. If the NFL is the dream job, Purdue is without a doubt the best choice and it isn’t close. The question is how much does nostalgia weigh in on his decision.

I don’t think it’s a done deal and anybody that says it is would be lying. Brohm may ultimately leave, but it isn’t a lock by any stretch. If he does bails after telling his players he was staying then that’s on him. I definitely don’t think he wants to leave and I think Purdue will match any offer Louisville can muster.

It’s not a done deal, but he didn’t tell his players or anyone else that he wasn’t leaving. He could if he wanted to, he just hasn’t. At least not yet.

I'm not sure how Louisville fan arrogance enters into this. Louisville fans weren't taking a report of getting money together and forming an offer and arrogantly calling it a done deal. Dakich reported a done deal and Louisville fans have reacted variably between believing it and thinking he's always full of it but sometimes gets things right.

It seems quite the stretch to blame Louisville fans for the definitive phrasing Dakich chose.

I, for one, don't believe him at all.

The person that broke the news to dan is associated with Louisville. Two days earlier Dan said Brohm was not going, then all of a sudden it changed. Those getting the money together just assume he will say yes. The AD for Louisville said he hadn’t talked to him and didn’t know if Brohm was interested. I am thinking Dakich had a source assuming when it was offered it would automatically be accepted. Nobody close to Brohm thinks it’s a done deal. He also denied the rumors the same way he always had and addressed the players. So either he lies to his players and said he wasn’t leaving, or he was honest as he says he has been and isn’t gone. Things may change in 2 weeks, but right now I am sure he is intent on getting as many wins as he can and finishing the season strong. I hope he isn’t thinking about the decision, because he will need to be on his A game to get to a bowl after dropping to Minny.

What would be worse is if the players are wondering what is going on and lose some focus, if they have not been told definitively. Moore already stated he intends to ask Brohm after the IU game what he is doing. I could see us dropping the last two actually three games.

So who was the source? And who was the source 2 days prior? I mean, unless you know you're just assuming and finding a way to blame Louisville for what Dakich did.

And I agree, I don't think Brohm wants anything at all to do with this conversation right now. He just wants to do his job.

Brohm has done everything and said everything every other coach has said. He has. Asically denied everything and tried to keep the team focused on their next two games. Whether true or not, Dakish should have waited before breaking the story.

How many other times has a coach denied something and then the truth comes out? Hope was supposedly informed he was fired after the Minnesota game. However it was denied only to be true after the season.

We shall see. I'm tired of the rumors. B
