#2 player according to Rivals. Was a chance he ended up at Michigan so this is good news for us. Nice job Cuonzo!

Has CS signed? Maybe he will change his mind and go join him like it was earlier speculated. I would love it in more ways than one.

Congrats to Zo and Cal.....Hope they stick it to Alford for years to come........

Sorry had to get my IU jab in .........

Those could be some epic battles in the future 52. Alford just landed two brothers and a four star center this week. And like their mentors, both are pretty decent coaches.

Wow, that makes it a really good incoming class for California and Cuonzo. I wish Painter and his assistants could reel in a 5 star caliber recruit every now and then. CMP can't go another 10 years without getting a McD's AA or Mr. Basketball. I just think that would be unacceptable at this point in his tenure.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for Painter to land a McDonald's AA recruit, or even a recruit of that caliber. It's simply not going to happen. He an above average coach and below average recruiter. We've decided that's good enough here.

How much different would Purdue basketball be if we got Counzo during his transition to Tennessee and Missouri going after Matt?

Look, I love Zo, and I wish him the best, he's a great recruiter, but this constant pining for him is getting a bit out of control. He can recruit, we've seen it, but he hasn't really been a world beater as a coach. Sure he's had reasons, and Tenn. may have not been the best situation, but as it stands he's only had 1 real good year of Head Coaching experience at Missouri State (MVC Coach of the year 2011), and took a Tenn. team on an emotional high to the sweet 16, his only tourney appearance in 7 years head coaching. He has been to the NIT 3 time, bowing out in the first round twice second round once. Went to the never ran CIT tourney and won it, but that's not really much of an accomplishment, and has missed the post season 2 years. He has one conference championship in the MVC in three tries. and a career .594 win percentage

Painter has 8 tourney appearances in 11 years. 2 sweet 16's, A Big Ten and a MVC championship. Including the MVC coach of the year and 3 time B1G coach of the year to go along with a B1G tourney championship. He's had 4 players go to the NBA, and 3 of them are still on rosters. To go a long with his .649 career win percentage.

If Zo was any other coach other than an all-time great, people would be laughed out of here for suggesting that he be the next coach at Purdue. If you aren't happy with what Painter has done in his 11 years how can you see Zo as an upgrade based on his current accolades.

Ohh an by the way, if you think Painter is over paid, I don't know what he's making but he turned down 1.8 to stay in Tenn. so it's got to be at least that. I think just like backup QBs people always think the other option is definitely the best option. I'm not saying he wouldn't be great here, but I think he needs to prove it first or we'd be right back here with the same people complaining about him like they do Painter.

How...Zo's incoming 2015 class is outstanding, and the class of 2016 is starting to look even better. Cal's is going to be one of the best teams in the Pac-12 for years to come.

Excellent post. People need to get a grip and some reality.
