Here is my yearly preseason wishful thinking that never comes to fruition:
I may be delusional, but seeing how our schedule sets up combined with the bad breaks we had last year and bad coaching that is gone...I believe 6 wins is very attainable...especially if our linebacking core stays healthy unlike last year and Blough gets off to a good start and builds some confidence. Simplified offense with very experienced receivers who should know how to get open by now and a QB who is capable....plus Markell Jones..
None of the Road games are exactly definite losses (Maryland, ILL, Nebraska, MINN, IU) and we start off with 3 straight home games that are all winnable.
We've had 3 really bad years, but our schedule is SO SOFT and I think our offensive continuity is good enough that there is absolutely no reason that 6 wins isn't attainable...even if we aren't very good. I have a feeling we will be playing in a lot of high scoring games this season, which even if we lose, will still be fun to watch.
I think if Burke had hired a grad student to run the team we would have been millions ahead and had a better record.
No the bad coaching is not gone. The head idiot who HIRED Shoop and let him stay a full 3 years has absolutely no clue. The only way anything changes is if CDH stays in the locker room and lets those who have a clue go out on the field and run things. But that won't happen as he likes seeing himself on the big screen in his Tressel Vest and headset combo.
