For the most part the defense on him was solid and he still finished. Raphael couldn't have done more. Hard to imagine how things may have been different if he hadn't gotten hurt/suspended.

Credit to the team defense for locking down the last 25 minutes.

He'll be playing at the next level....for a while, he was all Illinois had on offense. His game compares a little to Marcus Smart, but I think he'll fare better.
 
I know Rice "only" averages around 18-19 pts/game, but the way we defended him and he still knocked down the shots reminded me of Big Dog Robinson in the 90s. Teams would double up on him and he would just knock em down. Rice didn't much of a supporting cast other than Hill today.
 
Rice is a stud. And remember he was at Drake before he transferred to Illinois so he wasn't always a known commodity.
