Apparently Crean thinks a lot about us......a whole lot. Right now somewhere on campus, AJ must be feeling both flattered and in need of a shower

“I think with Purdue – with what they have experience-wise, with what they have on the front line and as good as Caleb Swanigan is being billed to be, I would think they would be a legitimate contender for the national championship. I don’t think there’s any question about it. I don’t pick who wins the league, but it would be hard-pressed for me not to see them as one of the top (teams).”

“When you look at the experience they have their back court to go with what they have on the front court – not many programs have the luxury of having somebody like A.J. Hammons, that some were projecting to leave after year one or year two, to still be in college ... the upper echelon is going to be determined by the depth of front lines. That’s why our concerns are what they are,” Crean said. “But Purdue doesn’t have those concerns from what I’ve seen.”

“They’re well-coached,” Crean said. “They play hard; (they’re) extremely disciplined. They’re a threat to win it all, to me.”

He is such a douche troll of a man. Classless pissant. I hope AJ drops 50 on them this year and then holds Crean down and drops a duece on his face. iu sucks and he knows it.

Kiss of the devil?
Bad omen?
Or is he just preparing the IU fanbase up for an ass kicking, so he can say "I told you so"?

I like the 3rd choice.

He does seem to be thinking about AJ. Thinking about him a lot.

OMG!!! that was funny. I htink he feels some heat and beating Purdue would go a long way to removing the heat...particularly if Purdue was good. Wants to be the underdog rather than the favorite to rally the troops. IU will most likely be a slight favorite down there and how the game is called (and that is not to imply getting the shaft) will be very important I'm sure

This was flat-out negative recruiting. What he is really saying is "Look, Zeller and Vonliegh (sp?) left after a year or two, but it takes 4 to get to the NBA at Purdue". I agree with your assessment of the creep.

IU players worth a damn to NBA teams will never stay and play for Crean 4 years. Who could? And Yogi will never amount to much in the League.

Just Clappy being Clappy. Sounds like he's trying to raise expectations for us and lower those for IU. If they finish ahead, he looks good and we will have seemed to underachieve. And I also agree with the comment about his attempt at negative recruiting.

I think you hit it spot on. Trying to lower IU expectations, or prepping his excuse when we thump IU.

Well, we now know the identity of the troll who has been obsessively posting here about how great Purdue is going to be. Such a silly goof.

I think he talks like this so much to recruits and families that he slipped and let the negative recruiting out in public. Tom Crean exposed for who he truly is.

Hey it certainly sounds like Tom is speaking the truth. For all the negative stated here about him (most if not all well deserved IMO) he is part of the business we call college basketball. He is closer to it than any of us, and appears to see that which we are thinking is the case. This team has the potential to be there at the end, it is a question of if they learn as a team and improve more than they digress as the season progresses.

Riiiiigght...

How are you and Tom getting on these days?

I don not know the man, maybe you do? I am not defending him rather agreeing with that particular thing he said. You do not think he sees just what PU has currently?

Anyone who follows B1G basketball knows that crean is not a gracious man who gives credit to his rivals. He is a poor sport who blames his rivals for his problems. It has been visible for all to see and has been discussed at length here.
