Could Haas Transfer ?

Why would IH think he is going to play more next year?

painter said he was injured but he put him in, in the last seconds to guard the in bound pass, he didn't seem too injured.

How many centers outplay IH when he is in the game?
Does he pick up fouls on the other team ?
His offensive rebounds (yes I know not that that many) are back breakers for the other team.
He knows he is better then almost all the centers he plays against but can't get off the bench.

Of course I am not an expert coach like you all and I do not like painter but goodness let the big man play or watch him transfer away.

OK, this

This is BY FAR the craziest of crazy uttered on here in a looooooooong time. This is as wackadoodle as that nutjob Illuminati guy on the general discussion board. Haas ain't going anywhere. He bleeds Black and Gold and values his degree from PU.

Pure speculation and no reason to think so. However it has to be very frustrating to only get 13 minutes against lowly Nebraska when your team loses, and knowing you could have helped (11 points, 5 boards a block and a steal in 13 minutes is pretty impressive). Again, no reason to think so right now but these are the kinds of games that can start to give a player thoughts like that.

This is kesselschmiede level of ridiculous.

Haas will be the man next year. And as a result likely will be either 1st or second best center in the Big Ten. Heck, I would argue now he is in the top 5 centers & the Big's Best 6th man of the year.

Agreed, this transfer notion is ridiculous.

If I were IH, & CMP left me on the bench like that, it would be going through my head. If he sits in the tourney like that & we make another early exit, I would if I would qualify under the transfer rule where you don't have to sit a year. Any team in the nation would take him in a heartbeat.

Then thank God Isaac has more intestinal fortitude than you do.

In answer to the original question: Could he transfer? Of course he could. Purdue could win the national championship in football next year as well but I'm not putting any money on either happening.
I wouldn't either, but it sure gives other coaches recruiting ammo against Purdue.

On of the many problems is you have no idea why IH was on the bench. He could of been hurt from the abuse he took as an example. But not one of us was there, so not one of us knows and things like what you posted are baseless accusations.

If it were just yesterday, then I'd understand your point, but this has been happening... I complained about it when it happened in the MSU game, but we got away with it & came out with a w. CMP also did it in the Minny game which we lost, under the same circumstances. It's been a pattern at the end of our games... yesterday wasn't the first time this has happened.

My point still remains. It was the right call in the MSU game and in the Nebraska game it could of been because he was hurt. Again, no one knows because no one on here is in the huddle or the practices. Just because you think that just throwing someone on the court because he is 7' 2" doesn't mean it's the right decision, not by a long shot.

If he's hurt, why would you put him in with 10 seconds left? We also heard the same thing about VE and he played 35 minutes & was in at the end of both games. Unless IH sits the next game, I'm calling BS.

Depends on the injury. I take it you've never played hurt before eh? You can call BS all you want, the fact of the matter is you don't know because you weren't there.

Such a new found love for IH around here. Very touching. Seems those that wanted his *ss benched and out of the starting line up, or thought it was horrible playing 2 bigs at one time, have changed their tune......until he is deemed "soft" again, that is. Fickle pickles.

You are clearly not talking about me so I don't know why you quoted me. I've been a Haas fan since he arrived.

No definitely not talking about you. Just was trying to show, like you have, how ridiculous this thread is. My bad boilerzz!

As far as VE, we are lacking bodies right now. His back might be hurting, but we need him in there even if it means not playing at 100%. I have been officiating basketball for 3 months now, and I can tell you my back and knees are hurting right now, but I get through it. I am not sure about Haas. He did take some big falls in that game.

I would agree that Haas transferring after the season seems unlikely, but I don't know how ridiculous it is.

1.) He is junior. It certainly isn't unheard of for a student-athlete to achieve their degree after three year and become immediately eligible to play following a transfer. I have no idea what his academic situation is, but I thought had heard that he was a very good student when he was considering Purdue.

2.) While I think Swanigan is very likely to go to the NBA next season, I don't think it's a sure thing.

In the unlikely event that Swanigan decides to stay in school and Haas is able to finish his degree in 3 years, I would think the possibility of a transfer is on the table. At least given what we have seen as the year has progressed, Painter is not in favor of playing both bigs together very often, and he is giving Swanigan the majority of the minutes. If Haas still has aspirations of playing in the NBA himself, he might have to decide whether playing 15-20 minutes a game and being uber efficient is more valuable than playing starters minutes somewhere and being a completely known commodity to NBA scouts.
