Cool story about Holstege, and one I can relate

I had spinal meningitis as a child. At three years I had to learn to walk and talk again. I remain deaf in my right ear. It was bad enough the priest wanted to perform Last Rite, but was stopped by my father who would not let go.

It was the local Moose and Masonic (damn those illuminati right?) lodges that raised the funds to pay for a hospital bill that would have destroyed my parents.

Funny how I never associated my dislike of sweets to this!

So back to Holstege. The fact he is playing D1 football is a testament to his strength and the strength of his family to bring him to full recovery.
