Telling you guys, he has Aspergers. Seen the same response to stress with the several suffers of this I know. And the assistant coach going right in to restrain his wrists...the coaches know. They cannot reveal a medical condition nor should they. It makes me dislike the kid a lot less.
It would put things in a different light/perspective, and HIPAA and other privacy concerns would make it difficult for the institution to make any comments or disclose any information from my understanding. However, even IF there is more going on here, that doesn't exempt the team or player from the consequences of any actions on the court. I think some of the criticism or vitriol would be lessened or not as harsh (although where Duke is involved.....there is a minimum baseline I suppose). Krzyzewski has made it clear already that he's gonna handle it his way, and his way is the right way according to him.
I agree Texas. NCAA rules and societal norms, and consequences of breaking them, should still apply. Just that I don't hate the young man as I believe it is not pure douchebaggery at work here. Coach K hypocrisies I can always do without.

Great plays/games are the norm. Every week we see them, but this is not the norm and as such attracts attention and eyeballs. How often do you see two page topics on a good play/game unrelated to PU? It is human nature to be curious about shocking behavior, and while this kids behavior may not be shocking per se, it sure is interesting.
Were his spastic reactions as pronounced the previous two times and caught on camera? Plus, the more times he does the more outrage people feel and the more they will follow/complain about the story.
Kind of like Woodbury. The first time he poked somebody in the eyes it was given a pass. After that the outrage was compounded with each occurrence.
Well the way I look at it is that before the season started all the talking heads were sure he was the best player in the nation. It was pretty much all we heard. Now it appears he is not what they all thought he was, and the talking heads are attempting to save face so to speak. But either way he continues to be the story. Why???

Agreed. F he had Tourette's syndrome would he be allowed to go off on officials with a spew of swearing? Plus, when he's flopping he knows exactly what he is doing. He should have been suspended a long time ago before he injures another player.

After his player trips THREE people and throw a tantrum on the bench embarrassing himself, his team, and university, Allen is not kicked off the team, he is STARTING after being out only one game. What a loser and hypocrite. So much for "molding young men and teaching them what is important in life". I guess it's just winning at all costs. I hope the media skewers coach k.
The media is never going to go after K. He would have to kill somebody in the public square and even then they might give him a pass.
I have always hated Duke and Coach K, he is a rat, looks like a rat, acts like a rat. This is honestly the most pathetic thing I have seen from a college coach in a LONG time. This is legit as pathetic as it gets.

Yep, he had a one game suspension, mostly due to pressure from college basketball media members and the ACC Commissioner. Coach K would have let him play at Virginia Tech a few days ago if there wasn't the public backlash that there was after their game against Elon.
I can imagine Coach K saying something like this in tonight's Georgia Tech post-game presser: "I think from this adversity, Grayson better understands now how he needs to conduct himself on and off the court. It was a tough pill to swallow in a season where we've already had so many setbacks, but I believe he's a better man now because of it."
maybe haas can adopt these 'natural' bball moves. he could leg sweep at least two guys at once - and no elbow for a technical!
